A year ago, the NRM Party Secretariat in Kampala released its electoral roadmap, including, among others, conducting joint campaigns for candidates contesting for Parliamentary positions. Obongi District Commissions Shs1.9 Billion Staff House Under DRDIP Project.

On Wednesday 2-July-2025 Obongi District Local Government officially commissioned a storied staff house for its Production Department, constructed at a cost of UGX 1.9 billion under the Development Response to Displacement Impacts Project (DRDIP). The commissioning ceremony was presided over by the Chief Administrative Officer, Humphrey Benson Otim, and witnessed by Resident District Commissioner Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka, District Chairperson Hajji Buga Habib Khemis, and other key stakeholders. The facility is expected to improve staff welfare and enhance service delivery in the agriculture and production sector.

Courtesy Photo.  We woke up on Wednesday morning 2 July 2025, to hear the unfortunate and painful death of one of our elders, a very experienced, important, and social ex-Soldier, Rtd Maj Mahammud Ramathan Lagbe from Gotri Cell, Rampeta ward in Lodonga Town Council, Aringa South Constituency in Yumbe District. Born in 1940,  Mahammud Ramathan died on Wednesday, 2 July 2025. Having risen through the ranks from Private to Major, Mahammud Ramathan joined the East African Rival Army on 8 October 1960, and on 9 October 1962, after Uganda gained independence, he, together with other soldiers, was subsumed into the Uganda Army. He served through the regimes of Kabaka, Obote, and Amin; thereafter, they fled to exile after President Amin was overthrown in 1979. Rtd Maj Mahammud was a strong pillar in the Aringa tribe! The Member of Parliament for Aringa South Constituency, Hon Alioni Yorke Odria has bought 40 Tents, with each accommodating 100 seats, to be used during sad or happy moments in the communities of Aringa South in Yumbe District. The Tents, which cost Hon Odria over 130M Shs, are set to be launched in a mega function and then handed over to the society for management. With the community and individuals having gone through a dilemma when looking for Tents to be hired expensively at the tune of 100,000 Shs and above for functions and funerals, this initiative by Hon Odria is expected to save the community members from getting drained in the lookout for Tents for hire.
