Outgoing Oyam District DPC, SP Francis Okongo Urges Police Officers to Embrace Farming to Reduce Temptations of Corruption.

📸: The DPC Addressing the Gathering During the Event.  The outgoing District Police Commander (DPC) of Oyam District, SP Francis Okongo, has advised police officers to supplement their office work with farming as a way of reducing the temptation to solicit bribes from suspects or complainants.  Speaking yesterday 21-6-2026 at Rainbow Hotel–Oyam during his farewell, Okongo urges officers not to rely solely on handling files, which can expose them to unethical practices, but to venture into farming as an additional source of income to ease financial pressures.  Okongo also applauds political leaders of Oyam for the cooperation that prevented the district from registering any election-related crime during the just concluded election period.  This week, the Inspector General of Police transferred Okongo from Oyam District to Kabalagala Police Station after serving in Oyam for eight months.  He will be replaced by SP Sydney Aikoyo, formerly of Kabalagala...

LAW: CAN THE LANDLORD CHASE YOU AWAY FOR DATING HIS DAUGHTER?.

📸: Courtesy Photo  Akram has been renting a small apartment in Kampala for two years. He has never missed rent, keeps the place clean, and gets along with the neighbours. A few months ago, he started dating the landlord's daughter. When the landlord found out, he was furious. He told Akram to pack his things and leave by the end of the week. Akram is shocked because he has done nothing wrong. Is it illegal to date the landlord’s daughter? WHAT DOES THE LAW SAY? No, a landlord cannot evict you simply because you are dating their daughter. Under the law, a landlord must have a valid legal reason before evicting you from a rented house. If you fail to pay rent, use the premises for an unlawful purpose, cause a nuisance or interference with other tenants' enjoyment of the property, or cause significant damage to the premises. If the landlord has none of these legal grounds, they must give you sufficient notice under the Act before requiring you to leave. This notice pe...

“Gen Muhoozi's Tweets are causing us problems,” Gen Otafiire Said in a Leaked Telephone Call with Amb. Mirjam Blaak, Uganda’s Ambassador to EU.

Story by  George Asiimwe     19-June-2026  Amb Blaak and Otafiire KAMPALA — A purported telephone conversation between retired Major General Kahinda Otafiire and Uganda’s Ambassador to the European Union, Mirjam Blaak, suggests that social media posts by Chief of Defence Forces Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba became a major diplomatic headache for Ugandan officials seeking to fend off European criticism following the disputed 2026 general elections. The alleged transcript, whose authenticity could not be independently verified, appears to capture a discussion between the two officials at a time when National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine, had disappeared from public view amid reports that security agencies were hunting opposition leaders and supporters. At the time, Uganda was facing mounting scrutiny from European lawmakers over allegations of political repression, arbitrary arrests and the treatment of opposition supporters in...

Here are Some 5 Reasons Why Men Prefer Slim Ladies.

📸: Sinamakosa Winnie , Courtesy Photo.  When we think about who we are attracted to, it’s a big and personal thing. Everyone likes different things, and that’s what makes the world so interesting. But a lot of people have noticed a common idea in society that says men prefer slim women. Have you ever wondered why men prefer slim women? It’s important to remember that true love and attraction are about so much more than looks. It’s about a person’s heart, kindness, and how they make you feel. But for a long time, certain ideas about beauty have been a big part of our world. People often say that love is about the heart, not just about how someone looks. And that’s very true. What really matters is how kind someone is, how they treat you, and how they make you feel inside. But for many years, the world has shared certain ideas about what is “beautiful,” and these ideas often show slim women as more attractive. These messages come from movies, magazines, and social media....

State Minister for Internal Affairs - Designate, Lawrence Muganga: I secretly recorded my vetting by Parliamentary Appointments Committee.

Wednesday 3-June-2026. Copied from the official Twitter account of Lawrence Muganga, newly appointed State Minister for Internal Affairs.  Hon. @DaudiKabanda, with due respect, I must set the record straight. I do NOT hold a Rwandan passport. This is a deliberate falsehood introduced by Hon. Thomas Tayebwa, and the truth must be told. We have it ON RECORD — Hon. @Thomas_Tayebwa’s own words: “In every vetting session we have to fail someone, and this time it had to be you, Dr. Muganga.” Read that again. This rejection was decided before the process even began. It was never about passports, qualifications, or integrity. It was personal. It was calculated. It was discriminatory. And in due course, we shall release the audio that proves it. Stay tuned. Hon. Kabanda, what I experienced in that committee was not parliamentary oversight. It was hatred. It was discrimination. It was racism, directed at me simply because I am a Munyarwanda. Let me be clear: We Banyarwanda are ...

Newly Appointed Minister of State for Internal Affairs, Prof. Lawrence Muganga has Been Rejected by Parliamentary Appointments Committee, Due to His Dual Citizenship.

📸: Prof Lawrence Muganga artiving at Parliament Earlier today for his vetting. The Parliamentary Appointments Committee has rejected the appointment of Prof. Lawrence Muganga as State Minister for Internal Affairs, with concerns over his dual citizenship emerging as the decisive factor during his vetting. The committee revealed that Muganga, who holds both Ugandan and Canadian citizenship, pledged to renounce his Canadian citizenship if approved for the ministerial position. However, a majority of committee members remained unconvinced that the commitment was sufficient to satisfy constitutional and legal requirements governing eligibility for certain public offices. The development makes Muganga the only nominee among a group of dual citizens vetted by the committee to be rejected. During the closed-door vetting sessions, Uganda’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Adonia Ayebare, and businessman and entrepreneur Calvin Echodu also faced questions ...
