MARACHA DISTRICT REAPS FRUITS OF RIGHT 2GROW PROJECT.

stakeholders of Right 2 grow in maracha district have drawn strategic action plans to sustain knowledge acquired from 5 years implementation of nutrition ,Water  sanitation and hygiene activities in the district. 
The implementing partner, the hunger project Uganda in the last five years has  been undertaking Right2 grow project that focused  on advocacy for improved nutrition ,water ,sanitation and hygiene status of community in four districts of kabale ,Nwoya , bugwere including maracha district. 
However,stakeholders in maracha district have been prepared to take over as pilot program in the greater subcounties of Oluffe and Nyadri phases out.
Maracha district nutrition focal point person, dramani ceasor explains the structure that played pivotal role during project implementation. 
"Am proud  to say the during the project period,  structures such as Community voice and actions volunteers ,Scaling up nutrition business network aka SBN amongst others were formed and empowered with knowledge and they should be able to continue serving the community with acquired knowledge even after phase out of this project" ceasor emphasized.

Sunday mawa , an official from Right to grow projects rallied the  existing structures formed during project implementation not to relax with phase out but rather continue with  more strengthend advocacy for community challenges related with nutrition, Water ,sanitation and hygiene.
Our happiness will only be if plight of the suffering community is continously advocated for till budgetary allocation are given priority to cater for such needs by the leaders. 

Mawa was happy to notice that Nyadri subcounty has out of local revenue allocated annually  budget of 433,000 to cater for activities of subcounty nutrition coordination committee activities. 
Primary schools ,community and local government set up in the pilot areas were some of entry points during the project implementation where nutrition focal point teachers,  demosite that promote good asw well as nutrition clubs in schools were established as learning points  to end cases of malnutrition amongst children bellow 5years and also unhygienic living. 
Etole Patrick,a teacher from Nyoro Primary School while making commitments on behalf nutrition focal point teachers in primary school pledges to sustain the program by continuously translating acquired knowledge into practice. 
"We benefited a lot from right to grow programs,  in our school we established demonstration sites where are leaners have acquired knowledge on how to grow green vegetables that supports good nutrition" etole explained. 
Amaguru Florence, official from  Amani initiative one of the co partners during the project execution challenges the stakeholders to ensure doable actions are practiced. 

"In our area women are more engaged in growing these greens more than me, so I urge our men to be practical and put in plan doable activity plans" Florence appealed. 
However,  Oluffe subcounty leadership was praised for showing exceptional and exemplary leadership in promoting nutrition in the subcounty evidenced by established demosite at subcounty headquarters.

Stakeholders were treated to motivating life testimony of Mrs  Stella abaru the subcounty chief who revealed having earned over  500,000 from greens and Vegetables she has sold .
Stella narrated that after acquiring knowledge from Right 2 grow, she embarked on growing greens for home use and for sale.

"Every time I come to the district headquarters, I make sure I come with my good quality greens and sale to district officials in their offices and go back with money, yesterday I sold like 15000 while here but some of us who have come this meeting will go back home  with empty pockets." said Stella  as the attendees were sent into reflections.

Lab Student Drowned, Body Missing in Rokoze Lake in Nyadri Sub-county, Maracha District.

Photo by #Information_is_Power's news reporter.  This afternoon Friday 5-December-2025, a student from St Joseph Laboratory Training School in Maracha hospital, a one  Araku Denis drowned in Rokoze water body in Nyadri Sub-county and the  body has not been retrieved upto this night as the police and residents searched for it and in vain but they are expected to resume retrieving it tomorrow Saturday 6-December-2025. 📸: Photo of the deceased which we captured on his phone screen this night. Araku and his fellow students had  reportedly gone to pass time at water point after completing exams papers of today. Him and callagues got attracted to swimming at water body where he perished.  By press time, efforts to retrieve his body proved futile as the body remains invisible on water surface.  Rokoze water body...

Surgeons fined $60,000 and banned permanently from profession after billionaire died during penis enlargement surgery.

Surgeons have been banned from practicing plastic surgery after a billionaire patient died during a penis enlargement procedure.
