This follows the withdrawal of Alliance for National Transformation candidate Anthony Rutahwire from the contest under circumstances that remain unclear. Police in Gulu City are investigating a case of attempted murder of an Election Special Police Constable identified as Cpl George Komakech.   David Ongom Mudong, the Aswa West Police spokesperson says the incident occurred on Monday at Layibi A&B Cell, Pece-Laroo Division in Gulu City at around 02:45am.  It's alleged that on Sunday, Caneroma Immaculate, the segment commander of Aywee briefed 24 ESPCs who were on duty and thereafter cpl Komakech George was booked out to Layibi Center, Pece-Laroo Division in Gulu City for night patrol with 24 Election Special Police Constables.  On Monday as they were heading back to the station, they came across four men along the road of whom one ran away when the patrollers inquired where they were heading to. Kampala socialite Bryan Kirumira, commonly known as Bryan White, has been charged with human sacrifice, manslaughter and several related offences in connection with the death of a 25-year-old woman who allegedly sustained fatal burn injuries at his Kyamula residence in Makindye Division, Kampala. Although his name appears on the charge sheet as the lead suspect, Mr Kirumira did not appear in the dock on Thursday when the charges were being read to his co-accused persons.
