Courtesy Photo.  🚨Ugandan court has ordered Moses Kigongo, the first national vice chairperson of the National Resistance Movement, to pay Shs 58 million in damages and costs to Diamond Glass Mart after losing a contract dispute over aluminium doors and windows at his Mpigi property. The case stems from a Shs 120m contract signed in May 2019 for aluminium doors, window frames and glass works at Kigongo’s home and 10 cottages at Maya Nature Resort. Trouble began after Kigongo demanded bulletproof glass something the contractor said was never in the deal. Kigongo paid Shs 83.25m, leaving Shs 36.75m unpaid, prompting Diamond Glass to sue. The firm’s director Ibrahim Lubega told court all works were completed, but payment was withheld. Update Unexploded Ordinance removed from Patiko sub-county A joint team of security Officials from 4th division have safely evacuated an unexploded Bomb that was last week discovered from Angany Village, Pawel Parish, Patiko Sub-county in Gulu district.  Patrick Komakech the Patiko Sub-county LC3 Chairperson, confirms this incident saying that Villagers digging their garden discovered this unexploded Ordinance last week. Komakech says, they collaborated with security and the locals who kept the unexploded Ordinance safely before it was evacuated.  A Man identified only as Okot, a resident of Pawel Parish says that locals had kept the unexploded Ordinance for over a week before it was evacuated by security.  Cases of unexploded bombs have been common in Northern Uganda because of the 20 years LRA Insurgency in the past. A Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) soldier, identified as Mbaale Akugizibwe Mbaale, aged 35, was on Sunday evening 8-Feb-2026 shot dead after allegedly failing to pay a Shs2,000 entrance fee to watch a local football match in Kyaterekera Town Council, Kagadi District. The incident occurred as fans were entering a match between Super Lions FC and Lyanda FC, where each entrant was required to pay Shs2,000. 📸: CroozeFMNews Reports indicate that Akugizibwe did not have the money and attempted to gain free entry, prompting a security officer to allegedly open fire, fatally shooting him on the spot. UPDATE: Outgoing Mawokota South MP Yusuf Nsibambi who lost his Mawokota South MP seat to NRM's Suzan Nakawuki,  has disconnected electricity he extended to his village before the general election. He claims to have used his personal resources to extend the electricity and he expected votes in return. 📸: Tembo 103.5 FM. Another report indicates that, he has also cancelled bursaries for approximately 60 students in his constituency, citing a lack of appreciation from voters who did not support him through voting in the 15-1-2026 general election. Surgeons have been banned from practicing plastic surgery after a billionaire patient died during a penis enlargement procedure. Belgian-Israeli diamond dealer Ehud Arye Laniado, 65, died of a heart attack during the procedure to enlarge his penis at the Saint-Honore-Ponthieu aesthetic clinic in Paris. His star surgeon, known as Guy H, was known for operating on wealthy clients and he treated Ehud two to four times a year in procedures costing tens of thousands of euros. Wednesday 28-1-2026. The Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) Defence Council, sitting at the Land Force Headquarters, has elected ten representatives to the 12th Parliament. The arrests were made during intelligence-led operations conducted between 24th and 27th January 2026 in Kiti A Zone, Kirinya Parish, Bweyogerere Division, Wakiso District . The suspects have been identified as; Amutuhairwe Robinson, a discharged former army personnel, Okello Daniel, guard working with Fortebet ,Kasango Arafat, Luyirika Joseph innocent and Alphonse Daniel. Fr Charles Onen, the incumbent Laroo-Pece Division Legislator, has conceded defeat to Norbert Mao, the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs in the just concluded Parliamentary elections. Mao, who is the Democratic Party President General, was announced the winner of the hotly contested Laroo-Pece Division parliamentary race in Gulu City by Mike Jjuko, the electoral commission Returning Officer on Friday afternoon. Mao polled 7,359 votes, defeating the incumbent Charles Onen, who garnered 5,562 votes. Onen says he has accepted the outcome of the results and wishes the victor success in his next five-year term in office serving the people of Laroo-Pece Division. In a remarkable development preceding the 2026 general elections, the Government Chief Whip, Hamson Obua, suffered a surprise defeat in the Ajuri County Alebtong District seat in Northern Uganda's Lango sub-region, losing to Samuel Okwir.  To take a way the shame of the whip loosing, electoral Commission has alleged called for vote recount to suggesting a by election on day one.  Despite running as the official candidate for the National Resistance Movement, Obua was ousted by Okwir, who successfully contested as an Independent candidate. Animal industry Minister Bright Rwamiram Kanyontore declared unopposed in the race for Isingiro North parliamentary seat. This follows the withdrawal of Alliance for National Transformation candidate Anthony Rutahwire from the contest under circumstances that remain unclear. Earlier, the Electoral Commission had disqualified other contenders, including Ankunda Best Anorld of the PFF and Ntanda Sharif, after determining that they had allegedly forged the signatures of their seconders, despite having initially been nominated.

Police in Gulu City are investigating a case of attempted murder of an Election Special Police Constable identified as Cpl George Komakech.   David Ongom Mudong, the Aswa West Police spokesperson says the incident occurred on Monday at Layibi A&B Cell, Pece-Laroo Division in Gulu City at around 02:45am.  It's alleged that on Sunday, Caneroma Immaculate, the segment commander of Aywee briefed 24 ESPCs who were on duty and thereafter cpl Komakech George was booked out to Layibi Center, Pece-Laroo Division in Gulu City for night patrol with 24 Election Special Police Constables.  On Monday as they were heading back to the station, they came across four men along the road of whom one ran away when the patrollers inquired where they were heading to.
