Robert Kasibante, presidential candidate for the National Peasants Party (NPP), has filed an election petition with the Supreme Court challenging Yoweri Kaguta Museveni's victory in the recent presidential and parliamentary polls
After securing 33,440 votes, thereby finishing sixth with 0.30% of the total votes cast, Kasibante is seeking court intervention to annul the election results, order a fresh presidential poll, and direct an audit of electoral processes.

The petition alleges widespread electoral irregularities, violence, and a perceived lack of neutrality on the part of the Electoral Commission.

Furthermore, concerns are raised regarding polling stations that were not officially gazetted, the conduct of security personnel, the use of biometric voter verification devices, and alleged instances of voter bribery.
