Mourners who gathered in Ombokoro village, Ajikioru Parish, Paranga Sub-county, Maracha East Constituency in Maracha District on Saturday 14-2-2026 for the memorial service of the late Mr Levi Obitre Agele have remembered the late as an exemplary father who focused on educating and instilling discipline amongst his children.
Mr Levi, a peasant farmer who was born in 1935 and died in 1996, by the time of his death, left behind a widow with 8 children, of which 5 girls and 3 boys.

The bishop for Madi and WestNile Diocese, the Right Rev Collins Charles Andaku who presided over the memorial service prayer, stated that the good deeds and legacies of the late Mr Levi, are the reasons why the family Members have decided to organize his Memorial service.
“I want to thank the family for taking time to remember their father Late Levi Obitre Agele. You are good children! Mzee died some time back but if he was a bad father, you wouldn't have bothered to organize his memorial service, and you would have diverted your monies to do other things”, Rt. Rev. Collins noted.

Based on the eulogies and preaching at the memorial service, the MP-elect for Maracha East Constituency, Hon. Dr. Aliti Tom Candia appealed to the mourners to live a righteous life that can please people and the Almighty God.
“I think the preaching that was done here by Baba Bishop, has really been understood by everyone because I saw most people kept on writing down what he was preaching! I am optimistic that some of the mourners will depart from here as good people!” Hon. Dr. Aliti irked but he castigated some people for doing contrary things despite listening and understanding such life-changing eulogies and preaching.

Because of the proper parenting the late offered to his children, the Dean of Uganda National Institute for Teacher Education, Unyama Campus, Mr Pariyo Lot Ewaku who doubles as the Chairperson for Lugbara Community in Gulu, Acholi Sub-region, thanked the mourners for honoring the invitation to come for the memorial service.
My Pariyo described senior UPDF Officer Lt. Col. Matua Kreys David, one of the sons of the late, as a person of high moral values and down to earth regardless of the profession and title he has.

Assistant RDC for Maracha District Mr Collins Dramani who represented the office of the President during the memorial service, thanked Lt. Col. Matua Kreys and the family Members for thinking about organizing a Memorial service for their late father.
“In the current World we are in, many people do not organize formal Memorial services like this to include Clergies and other invited guests to come and memorize the dead but instead they resort to posting on Social Media, the photos of their dead relatives”, Assistant RDC Collins said as he thanked the family members for this decision.

National Resistance Movement (NRM) party Chairperson for Maracha District, Mr Ofeku Gabriel who supported the family with a Cow on top of what they had for the memorial service, while quoting the biblical prophets like Jesus who was mourned for 3 days, Moses who was mourned for 6 months, Ibrahim who mourned his wife for 1 year, he thanked Lt. Col. Matua Kreys David and the family Members for thinking about organizing a Memorial service to mourn their late Dad Mr Levi Obitre Agele.
The NRM Chairperson Ofeku however castigated some families who often want to sell their lands if they want to organize a memorial service for their deceased relatives.
The memorial service of the late Mr Levi Obitre Agele brought mourners from different Districts across WestNile and Acholi Sub-region.
