Users praise these AI companions for their understanding and ability to provide comfort, highlighting the challenges of finding ideal partners in real life due to personality differences. “He knows how to talk to women better than a real man,” said Tufei, from Xi’an in northern China, who declined to give her full name. “He comforts me when I have period pain. I confide in him about my problems at work,” she told AFP. “I feel like I’m in a romantic relationship.” While AI technology still has room for improvement, it addresses the loneliness prevalent in China’s fast-paced urban lifestyle. HE THREATENED TO STOP EATING IF I DO NOT ACCEPT TO GO OUT WITH HIM ON VALENTINE’S DAY!

James has been on Esther’s case begging for love for a year now. Esther has always played it cool and ignored him. But she came home to find a crowd and James was right in the middle threatening to go on a hunger strike if Esther does not see him on Valentine’s Day and ‘accept his love’. He even sent her a video of himself throwing away all the food in the house to prove he was starting to starve himself. Esther is worried that she might be arrested if something should happen to James because she has rejected him. WHAT DOES THE LAW SAY?.   By law, no one can be legally held for what happens to you unless they have some legal duty to look out for your wellbeing. In law this is called a duty of care.   For example, if your child starves because you did not want to force them to eat, then you as a parent will be held responsible because a parent has a duty to protect a child (even from themselves) and make sure that child is well fed. This duty applies to doctors and their...

IS IT A CRIME IF A MUSLIM MISTAKENLY EATS PORK?.

📸: Unsplash  Musa and meat can’t be separated. Growing up, there was at least some beef or goat, chicken or even duck soup as part of his meals. Recently after chasing after some ‘deal’ the whole day, he was told to come to Meat King barbeque to finalize the deal. After signing and receiving the money, he was invited to eat with the clients. Musa did not hesitate. Immediately he dived in and on his 6th stick, people at the next table said “mbizi ewoomye”. (The pork is delicious). When Musa realized that he what he had eaten was haram(forbidden), he started screaming. Karim (who knows Musa) had just parked near the tables overhead it and wanted Musa arrested for his ‘sin’. Was it a crime for Musa to accidentally eat the pork?   WHAT DOES THE LAW SAY? In Uganda, the law (the constitution) says we all have freedom of worship. This means that every person is free to enjoy and practice their religious beliefs. However, the law does not punish sins. It only deals with crimin...

CAN I SUE MY WIFE’S CHURCH IF SHE DIES BECAUSE OF FASTING?.

📸: Unsplash  Nwoya never trusted that “Total Results Church” or their pastor when they came to his village. From their name, to how the pastor dressed and how he kept people’s wives till late at church, everything was fishy. In December, Nwoya’s wife Fille joined “Total Results Church” and immediately started the same ‘bad manners’. She would stay at church until 11pm and on Sunday, she would leave home and 5am and come back on Monday morning.   At the start of December, the church declared a ‘total breakthrough fast’ for 80 days. Fille did not even eat the Christmas meat that she always looked forward to, and even when Nwoya tried to get her to eat something, she called him ‘the tempting satan’ and shifted to the church. Yesterday, Nwoya got the news that his wife and other church members died of starvation.   Nwoya has been crushed by this news and wants to sue that church for killing his wife because they made her ‘fast’ Can Nwoya sue them?   WHAT DOES THE...

WE GOT LOANS BECAUSE MANY PEOPLE PLEDGED. NOW THEY HAVE ALL REFUSED TO PAY THEIR PLEDGES!.

The closer Emma’s wedding day came, the less he could sleep and the more weight he lost. 50 friends and family members had pledged contribution for his wedding but only 5 had cleared with 12 days to the wedding.  The wedding committee did its best but the remaining 7 ‘pledgers’ still had not cleared up. So, Emma called them personally. Julius who had pledged 5 million for beers, told Emma that he was still ‘abroad’ but told him to go ahead and order for the beers and he would clear on the wedding day when he returned. Aunt Diana who pledged to cover the wedding gown, told Emma to just borrow money and she would cover it by the wedding day. The others simply dodged all Emma’s calls. Long story short, on 23rd January, the wedding was a success. Julius even drank 2 whole crates of beer and Aunt Diana danced and took photos with the Mugole in her gown. It been almost 2 weeks since then, and the people Emma borrowed money from keep calling day and night for their money. Julius has refus...

Love Opinion: Men are Not as Bad as We Ladies Portray.

MEN are not as bad as we ladies think they are... men's Actions reflect to the pains they have been through, and how hurt they have been.. men are the most loving and caring beings on earth and women can't compromise that .. 99% of men can love a lady that has nothing and make her something by building and investing in her growth and stability.. But just 50% of women can do that... every lady wants an already made man for a relationship,, nowadays ladies aren't ready to start a relationship with a nobody, they want a guy that has what their fathers didn't give them . but it wasn't so in the beginning.. our mothers were loving and obedience to Their Husband's and the women were the ones that was practically taking care of their homes..  but this generation only depends on men for everything,, they sell their bodies for Money and material things... and when they get of age for marriage and no man is coming forth, they start going to Shiloh with someone's son ...

IS IT A CRIME IF I HIRE SOMEONE TO SIT MY EXAMS?.

Sandra did not want to be like that guy Komaketch they caught cheating in the exam, but the truth is she had not read for the exam and failure was guaranteed. So, she went to Wandegeya and hired an ‘expert’ at cheating. She paid 500k and even gave the expert her exam card, ID and she met the ‘expert’ right before the exam started and she was impressed. The expert had done make up and looked almost like Sandra. Unfortunately, the invigilator was a family friend of Sandra and he noticed that the ‘Sandra’ writing the exam did not seem like the one he knew. After a brief struggle, the ‘expert’ was arrested and taken to the police. The bad news is that the expert has confessed and thrown Sandra under the bus.  Sandra wants to know if the police can arrest her for merely cheating on her exam.  WHAT DOES THE LAW SAY?  Earlier today, we told you about the difference between doing something wrong and committing a crime. We told you that copying or cheating in exams is...

Tayebwa slams bureaucratic procurement delays on Kampala-Jinja Expressway.

By Alex Esagala. 📸: Deputy Speaker, Rt Hon Tayebwa. KAMPALA. The Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa has slammed bureaucratic procurement procedures that cause unnecessary delays in implementing national strategic projects. Tayebwa made the remarks while chairing the plenary sitting on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, following a statement by Mr. Fred Byabakama, the State Minister for Transport on the status of Kampala-Jinja Expressway. The Deputy Speaker wondered why the procurement process for the construction of the Kampala - Jinja Expressway has taken more than five years, a development he said is already costing the taxpayers’ money. “Why should procurement take five years? You told us that you were starting the road when a bag of cement was still at shs20,000 now it is at shs35,000. Who is going to pay for this?” Mr. Tayebwa wondered. The Kampala-Jinja Expressway Project loan amounting to Shs842 billion secured from the African Development Bank has already cost the taxpayer Shs3...

IS COPYING IN SCHOOL EXAMS A CRIME? (DIFFERENCE BETWEEN COPYING AND IMPERSONATION).

When Komaketch was given a government scholarship at the University, the whole family celebrated. But now it has been 4 years since he started a three-year course and with how things had been going, he was sure he would fail the exams and spend a 5th year in the same course. So, he decided to do everything ‘hook and crook’ to leave the university.   For the first two papers, he managed to copy from his friend who kept exchanging answer sheets with him and writing on his behalf. Unfortunately for the next exam, his friend was given a different seat, so Komaketch wrote notes on his shirt, arms and even carried a phone to get ‘outside’ help. The lecturer caught him ‘mid-call’ and the police was called in. As we speak, Komaketch is still in the police cell, and he wants a way out without contacting his parents.  Is copying in exams a crime? WHAT DOES THE LAW SAY?  There is a difference between a wrong thing and a crime. Copying/cheating in school exams is an academic wr...

THE SALOON CHIC ONLY DID HALF MY HAIR. DO I SUE THE SALOON?.

📸: Unsplash    It took Nakimuli 4 months to save for the ‘Brazilian’ hairpiece she wanted for Valentine’s month. After travelling from work in Yumbe, reached Kampala in the evening and immediately went to Kikuubo to get her ‘dream’ hairstyle. She dropped into Maaku’s beauty salon “your beauty is guaranteed” and sat down. 40 minutes into the saloon work, she dozed off and woke up when the salon lady was done.   She looked at herself in the mirror and rushed to meet her boyfriend. That night, as they were admiring her hair, Nakimuli found that the salon lady had not worked on the middle of her head and had simply covered it up and stolen one of her ‘Brazilian’ hairpieces.  Now who does Nakimuli go to get her money back and her Brazilian hairpiece? Is it the salon or the hair lady herself?  WHAT DOES THE LAW SAY?  The law on sale of goods, does not only deal with selling physical goods, but also with how one person sells their services to another person....
