Surgeons fined $60,000 and banned permanently from profession after billionaire died during penis enlargement surgery.

Surgeons have been banned from practicing plastic surgery after a billionaire patient died during a penis enlargement procedure. Belgian-Israeli diamond dealer Ehud Arye Laniado, 65, died of a heart attack during the procedure to enlarge his penis at the Saint-Honore-Ponthieu aesthetic clinic in Paris. His star surgeon, known as Guy H, was known for operating on wealthy clients and he treated Ehud two to four times a year in procedures costing tens of thousands of euros. Wealthy Omega Diamonds owner Ehud would be operated on out of office hours. He had been having injections into his penis to make it appear larger. An investigation was swiftly opened into potential manslaughter chargers following his death, though it soon shifted to charges of failing to assist a person in danger, drug offences and practicing medicine without a licence. UPDF Elect Their MPs to the 12th Parliament of Uganda, President Museveni Urges Them to Focus on Addressing the "Needs" of the People.

Wednesday 28-1-2026. The Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) Defence Council, sitting at the Land Force Headquarters, has elected ten representatives to the 12th Parliament. Those elected are Lt Gen Sam Okiding, Lt Gen James Mugira, Lt Gen Sam Kavuma, Maj Gen Henry Matsiko, Maj Gen James Kinalwa, Maj Gen Joseph Ssemwanga, Brig David Robert Gonyi, Col Sylvia Meeme, Col Christine Nekesa, and Col Night Ikiriza. The election was presided over by the President and Commander-in-Chief of the UPDF, H.E. Gen (Rtd) Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, who chaired the Defence Council meeting convened specifically to elect the UPDF’s representatives to Parliament. Division Mayor Candidate Faints After Accusing NRM Candidate Over Vote Rigging.

The National Unity Platform (NUP) flag bearer in the Jinja South Division mayoral race, Simon Kasirye has collapsed at Jinja City tally centre as he protested "inflated votes" for his opponent, Mr Faruwa Kitakule of the ruling National Resistance Movement - NRM  According to Kasirye, some of the declarations of results (DR) forms from some polling stations were forged in favour of the NRM candidate. 3 Guns Recovered and 5 Suspects Arrested During Robbery Investigation Case.

Photo by Uganda Police.  Security agencies have arrested five(05) suspects in connection with a series of aggravated robberies within the Kampala Metropolitan Policing area and recovered three firearms. The arrests were made during intelligence-led operations conducted between 24th and 27th January 2026 in Kiti A Zone, Kirinya Parish, Bweyogerere Division, Wakiso District . The suspects have been identified as; Amutuhairwe Robinson, a discharged former army personnel, Okello Daniel, guard working with Fortebet ,Kasango Arafat, Luyirika Joseph innocent and Alphonse Daniel. During the operation, officers recovered three guns and three magazines, among other exhibits. Following interrogation, the suspects confessed to their involvement in the murder of ASP Bagenda Emmanuel, the Officer-in-Charge of Ntawo. Justice and Constitutional Affairs Minister Hon. Norbert Mao Declared Winner for Laroo-Pece Constituency After Defeating a Priest, Fr. Charles One, the Incumbent MP.

Fr Charles Onen, the incumbent Laroo-Pece Division Legislator, has conceded defeat to Norbert Mao, the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs in the just concluded Parliamentary elections. Mao, who is the Democratic Party President General, was announced the winner of the hotly contested Laroo-Pece Division parliamentary race in Gulu City by Mike Jjuko, the electoral commission Returning Officer on Friday afternoon. Mao polled 7,359 votes, defeating the incumbent Charles Onen, who garnered 5,562 votes. Onen says he has accepted the outcome of the results and wishes the victor success in his next five-year term in office serving the people of Laroo-Pece Division. Electoral Commission to Hold Fresh Election in 13 Polling Stations in Ajuri County After Government Chief Whip Hon. Obua Suffered Defeat During 15-1-2026 General Election.

In a remarkable development preceding the 2026 general elections, the Government Chief Whip, Hamson Obua, suffered a surprise defeat in the Ajuri County Alebtong District seat in Northern Uganda's Lango sub-region, losing to Samuel Okwir.  To take a way the shame of the whip loosing, electoral Commission has alleged called for vote recount to suggesting a by election on day one.  Despite running as the official candidate for the National Resistance Movement, Obua was ousted by Okwir, who successfully contested as an Independent candidate. Robert Kasinante Files Election Petition, Wants Supreme Court to Nullify the Victory of President Museveni.

Robert Kasibante, presidential candidate for the National Peasants Party (NPP), has filed an election petition with the Supreme Court challenging Yoweri Kaguta Museveni's victory in the recent presidential and parliamentary polls After securing 33,440 votes, thereby finishing sixth with 0.30% of the total votes cast, Kasibante is seeking court intervention to annul the election results, order a fresh presidential poll, and direct an audit of electoral processes.  The petition alleges widespread electoral irregularities, violence, and a perceived lack of neutrality on the part of the Electoral Commission.  📸: Copy of the Election Petition filed at Supreme Court of Uganda. Minister Hon. Bright Rwamirama Declared Unopposed After ANT Party Candidate for Isingiro North Constituency MP Race Stepped Down.

Animal industry Minister Bright Rwamiram Kanyontore declared unopposed in the race for Isingiro North parliamentary seat. This follows the withdrawal of Alliance for National Transformation candidate Anthony Rutahwire from the contest under circumstances that remain unclear. Earlier, the Electoral Commission had disqualified other contenders, including Ankunda Best Anorld of the PFF and Ntanda Sharif, after determining that they had allegedly forged the signatures of their seconders, despite having initially been nominated.

Election Police Constable stabbed with knife ahead of 15-1-2026 general election.

Police in Gulu City are investigating a case of attempted murder of an Election Special Police Constable identified as Cpl George Komakech.   David Ongom Mudong, the Aswa West Police spokesperson says the incident occurred on Monday at Layibi A&B Cell, Pece-Laroo Division in Gulu City at around 02:45am.  It's alleged that on Sunday, Caneroma Immaculate, the segment commander of Aywee briefed 24 ESPCs who were on duty and thereafter cpl Komakech George was booked out to Layibi Center, Pece-Laroo Division in Gulu City for night patrol with 24 Election Special Police Constables.  On Monday as they were heading back to the station, they came across four men along the road of whom one ran away when the patrollers inquired where they were heading to. Cpl Komakech ran after him and when his colleagues followed him they found when he had already been stabbed with a knife.  The victim was rushed to Gulu Referral Hospital for medical assistance.
