Photo by Osuta Yusuf.According to the residents from Minyoko Parish, this road which has been in sorry state with a lot of potholes and stones for years now, becomes almost impassable with motors during rainy seasons henceforth affecting their life, access to social services and as well as hampering socio-economic transformation which is one of the core values and agendas from the Ten-point program of the NRM party government.
This appeal by the incumbent woman MP Hon Driwaru Jennifer comes at a time when she had spent a lot of her personal resources and monies throughout the past four years to construct wooden or box culvert bridges over streams or rivers that needed critical attention to be addressed because they were locking or posing life threatening risks to the community who wanted to access social services like markets, health centers, churches, schools and mosques among others in Awiziru Sub-county and in other Sub-counties in Maracha District.
Following the three Candidates who stepped down after they were defeated by the incumbent woman MP Hon Driwaru Jennifer with a huge vote difference from the 17-7-2025 NRM party primary election for Woman MP Parliamentary position in which the Incumbent Hon Jennifer garnered 28,337 votes, followed by Hon Ayaka Rose Atima who garnered 11,322 votes, Aseru Sarah garnered 4,657 votes and Ajidiru Emilly garnered 2,782 votes, another set of new faces were duly nominated by the Electoral Commission during the two days nomination exercise on 22-Oct and 23-Oct-2025 to tussle for the Woman MP position, and the candidates include; Angucia Vivian (NUP Party), Masia Liz Lillian (FDC Party), Avako Molly Dezu (Independent), and the Incumbent Hon Driwaru Jennifer (NRM party) ahead of 15-1-2026 general election.
Stay tuned.
