The Incumbent woman MP for Maracha District, Hon Driwaru Jennifer who was on Wednesday 3-December-2025 given a thunderous and exciting welcome by the voters in Awiziru Sub-county during her first round of the campaigns in all the 19 Sub-counties of Maracha District as she is also expected to repeat the second round of the rally to all the Sub-counties in the district as per her campaign campaign program submitted to the Electoral Commission, has pledged to lobby for the upgrade and maintenance of the road which starts from the main road to Curube health center and passes across to Okokoro Town Council via a stream river which also lacks a bridge.

Hon Driwaru who launched her campaigns on 1-December-2025, which is 20 days after Electoral Commission’s official date of 10-November-2025 for commencement of Parliamentary campaigns, took her day one rally on Monday 1-Dec-2025 to Oluffe Sub-county, she addressed her day two rally on Tuesday 2-Dec-2025 in Obiba Sub-county and proceeded to address her day three rally on Wednesday 3-Dec-2025 in Awiziru Sub-county with the first rally held in the morning in Oluvu parish, later in the afternoon she moved to Robu parish and concluded the rally at Curube, in Minyoko Parish where she promised to work in collaboration with the two Awiziru Sub-county Councilors to the district (Hon Ndera Irene and Hon Adima Phenaus), the district council and also the technical officials in the district to ensure that, the district takes over full upgrade and maintenance of this Curube road near the Ayivu - Maracha border, and it passes through Curube health center III, a market and joins to Okokoro Town council through a river without mere culverts.

“There has been a public outcry from my people in this area that this road needs to be worked on! And it is therefore my appeal that, kindly vote again for these two Councilors Hon Ndera and Hon Adima, so that I will jointly be collaborating with them in an effort to secure upgrade and maintenance of this road”, Hon Driwaru Jennifer stated while she described the two Hon Councilors from the Sub-county to the district council as cooperative Councilors whom she can't be afraid to openly campaign for them because of that quality and also because they are NRM party flag bearers for that position.

According to the residents from Minyoko Parish, this road which has been in sorry state with a lot of potholes and stones for years now, becomes almost impassable with motors during rainy seasons henceforth affecting their life, access to social services and as well as hampering socio-economic transformation which is one of the core values and agendas from the Ten-point program of the NRM party government.

This appeal by the incumbent woman MP Hon Driwaru Jennifer comes at a time when she had spent a lot of her personal resources and monies throughout the past four years to construct wooden or box culvert bridges over streams or rivers that needed critical attention to be addressed because they were locking or posing life threatening risks to the community who wanted to access social services like markets, health centers, churches, schools and mosques among others in Awiziru Sub-county and in other Sub-counties in Maracha District.

Following the three Candidates who stepped down after they were defeated by the incumbent woman MP Hon Driwaru Jennifer with a huge vote difference from the 17-7-2025 NRM party primary election for Woman MP Parliamentary position in which the Incumbent Hon Jennifer garnered 28,337 votes, followed by Hon Ayaka Rose Atima who garnered 11,322 votes, Aseru Sarah garnered 4,657 votes and Ajidiru Emilly garnered 2,782 votes, another set of new faces were duly nominated by the Electoral Commission during the two days nomination exercise on 22-Oct and 23-Oct-2025 to tussle for the Woman MP position, and the candidates include; Angucia Vivian (NUP Party), Masia Liz Lillian (FDC Party), Avako Molly Dezu (Independent), and the Incumbent Hon Driwaru Jennifer (NRM party) ahead of 15-1-2026 general election.

Stay tuned.
