Uhuru Nelson Pledges to Fight Corruption in Maracha, If he is Elected as MP.

The NRM party flag bearer for Maracha Constituency MP election, Uhuru Nelson has pledged to fight corruption in Maracha District if he is voted to become the MP for Maracha Constituency in the upcoming 15-1-2026 general election.

Uhuru Nelson who made the remarks while campaigning on Tuesday afternoon 18-11-2025 in Oluvu Parish, Awiziru Sub-county, Maracha Constituency in Maracha District, has condemned the high level of corruption in Maracha District, arguing that, it is killing the future of children in the District.

While referencing the recent renovation project of some government primary school blocks in the district where the BoQ for the projects were highly inflated, Uhuru said if this level of corruption goes unchecked by the elected leaders, it is going to burry the future of our children.

“A mere renovation of a 4 room classroom block in Okokoro Town council has cost over 100 Million Shs! What sort of corruption is that?”, furious Uhuru Nelson asked as he told the people of Oluvu Parish, enough is enough and he requested them to vote for him so that he will go and fight the corruption in the District.

He added that, this is just a tip of the iceberg and if the people start to move to check on several other government projects in the District, they will be shocked by the level of corruption happening in the district over inadequate oversight and monitoring of government funds and projects by the elected leaders.

As the campaigns heat up ahead of 15-1-2026 general election for Presidential and Parliamentary positions in Uganda, it should be noted that, the Electoral Commission of Maracha District on 22-Oct and 23-October-2025 duly nominated a total of 5 Candidates, Namely; Musician Agadribo Emmanuel aka Monopoly (NUP Party) candidate, Eng. Aguta Sam (Independent) candidate, Businessman / Farmer Obeta Moses Drakua (Independent) candidate, Incumbent Hon. Oguzu Lee Denis (FDC Party) candidate and Mr. Uhuru Nelson (NRM Party) candidate to contest for the position of MP for Maracha Constituency for 2026 - 2031 term of office.

Ambassador Angualia Richard Perished in a Fatal Accident.

Lab Student Drowned, Body Missing in Rokoze Lake in Nyadri Sub-county, Maracha District.
