📸: The project Hon Leku Joel secured from Uganda Communications Commission (UCC).Terego West Constituency MP, Hon Leku Joel has succeeded in securing a Multi-million ICT Infrastructure, and 10 million shs as Social Cooperative Responsibility from Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) dispersed it to Community Schools in Terego District.

Courtesy Photo.In a letter dated 19-6-2024, Hon Leku Joel wrote to the Commission requesting for funds to help churches and community Schools, as an addition on the request for establishment of ICT Infrastructures as indicated below here;
1. He lobbied for computers for Mt. Wati Secondary School.
2. Computers for Katrini Secondary School
3. Computers for Owaffa Secondary School
4. Computer Laboratory for the community under Uganda Communications Universal Service and Access Fund (UCUSAF) established at Leju Town Council.
5. Lobbied Shs 10 M under Social cooperative responsibility and the monies have been transferred in the accounts of 6 entities (Ogboa Community Primary school, Micu Church of Uganda in Bileafe Sub-county, Arindia Church of Uganda, Olea Catholic Church in Katrini Sub-county, Ofunya Moslem group in Aiivu and Obofia Community PS in Leju Town Council) all in Terego District.

“Though not standing, I continue to deliver as per the mandate of the voters until i leave office in May-2026”, says Hon Leku who lost 17-7-2025 NRM Party primary election for Parliamentary position and decided not to contest as an Independent candidate for Terego West Constituency in the upcoming 15-1-2026 general election.
During the two days (22nd and 23-October-2025) nomination exercise, the Electoral Commission duly nominated a total of 10 Candidates who are all seeking to replace Hon Leku Joel who decided to step down from vying for reelection as MP for Terego West Constituency 2026 - 2031.
