NRM Party's Uhuru Nelson Nominated for MP Race, Promises Evidence-Based Leadership in Maracha Constituency.

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) party flag bearer for Maracha Constituency MP position 2026 - 2031, Mr Uhuru Nelson who got duly nominated by the Electoral Commission on Wednesday 22-10-2025, has pledged to have an evidence-based leadership in the next 5 years by establishing technical school among other peograms in his manifesto for the people of Maracha Constituency.

During the 17-7-2025 NRM Party primary election for Parliamentary position where Uhuru Nelson was declared winner for Maracha Constituency after he polled 10,000 votes, followed by Obeta Moses Drakua who polled 8,000 votes and lastly Drasiga Dan Elvis.

Being a University graduate in the faculty of Economics and Statistics, Uhuru Nelson who decried the alarming Unemployment rate in Maracha, and has emphasized on job creation initiatives through constructing a technical school to skill the young people as one of the methods of reducing unemployment rate, if he gets elected on 15-1-2026 to become the MP for Maracha Constituency in 2026 - 2031.

Speaking to the Media after his nomination by the Electoral Commission for Maracha District on Wednesday afternoon 22-10-2025,  Uhuru Nelson who during campaigns, often refers to himself as a servant of the people, strongly condemned the politics of lies, divisionism and deception where a candidate comes to talk a lot, tell so many promises and after he is voted by the people, he completely disappears and leaves the public with nothing.

“After the people of Maracha Constituency giving me their votes / mandate to become the MP in 2026 to 2031, I want the public to know there is a strong leadership in Maracha just by the changes and factual achievements that will be seen on the ground”, Mr Uhuru stated in the press briefing, insisting that, his coming into politics is not to grab someone's position, but it is because of leadership gap that has degenerated into affecting the livelihood of the people in the Constituency and District.

Mr Uhuru Nelson's aforementioned statements from his manifesto, come at a time when from the past two years to date, he has been procuring Electricity Meter Boxes and supply them for free to the people of Maracha Constituency, on top of other social cooperative responsibilities he renders like organizing football tournaments (Uhuru Cup) and awards both the Winners and Loosers in the finals, donating monies and cements to aid construction of Churches, Mosques and community Schools across the Constituency.

It should be noted that, the Electoral Commission has duly nominated the following candidates; Agadribo Emmanuel (NUP Party), Aguta Sam (Independent), Obeta Moses Drakua (Independent), Oguzu Lee Denis (FDC Party) and Uhuru Nelson (NRM Party) to contest in the upcoming 15-1-2026 general elections for Maracha Constituency MP seat in the term for 2026 - 2031.

Ambassador Angualia Richard Perished in a Fatal Accident.

Lab Student Drowned, Body Missing in Rokoze Lake in Nyadri Sub-county, Maracha District.
