Rtd. Maj. Fred Kasozi Lost LC3 Chairperson Election in Kyanwanzi District, Files a Petitions at NRM Tribunal.

Political tensions are high in Ntwetwe sub county Kyankwanzi district after one of the aspiring candidates Rtd. Maj Fred Kasozi petitioned the NRM elections tribunal over what he claimed was gross election malpractices that affected his victory.

Kasozi who was donning his smart Yellow suit and necktie told this website at the tribunal office plot 30 Kyadondo road in Kampala 18^th August 2025 lamented that his opponent Paul Tibanyenda reportedly messed up the entire electoral process.

He observed that he was declared to have garnered 818 votes against Tibanyenda’s 929 votes but the contention stems from the three villages that did not hold polls including Kikwakula, Kagi East and Kasubi respectively.

Kasozi wants the tribunal to declare him winner for having won in the 16 polling centres or hold elections in the three villages that never hosted any election.

He insisted that the three villages which polls were not held were the determining points for the winner therefore they either count the votes cast from the 16 villages or hold new elections in the villages to secure the new winner however the tribunal granted seven days for the verdict.

Tibanyenda was not available for comment by press time.

Lab Student Drowned, Body Missing in Rokoze Lake in Nyadri Sub-county, Maracha District.
