One of the two tractors that was donated in the 2018 / 2019 financial year by Ministry of Agriculture, to Maracha District local government, has been parked at an area in Arua City.
The tractor whose front number plate has been removed and the rare number plate cut into some pieces, leaving only the "UBE 073..", is said to be parked for over three months because of some mechanical fault.
This incident came at a time when Maracha District council in 2024 passed a resolution to make sure all the faulty vehicles of the district should be parked in the yard at the district headquarter.
The resolution by the council in 2024 had come shortly after this online publication wrote a news update about a whitish double cabin car under the Health sector, which was parked at Arua District headquarter for almost one year without a repair.
According to opinions from some concerned members of the public, such assets of the government, if abandoned or parked in a far area for long time, it can easily trigger some unscrupulous officials to take the advantage and sale off such properties at cheaper prices.
