Out of the 18 vulnerable students who were carefully identified and selected from different villages of Maracha District to go for nursing and midwifery courses in 2022, 15 of them successfully graduated on the 28th of March 2025 at MUBENDE ANSWERED PRAYERS SCHOOL OF NURSING AND MIDWIFERY institute, with one pursuing diploma in Pharmacy and two being pushed back.
While speaking with Woman MP Hon Driwaru Jennifer, who got the scholarships and supported the students in their various challenges, thanked them for being committed throughout these years of struggle, some of whom were rewarded for best performance, most disciplined students.
"I walked with my head and shoulders high up for my students performed so well." Hon. Jennifer was also appreciated by the institution's leadership during the graduation ceremony for her selfless commitment, support, care, and love given to her students. "Hon. Driwaru Jennifer from MARACHA, is a special MP among many who brought for us students; she is a mother. God bless her....says Dep. Director in her speech,"
“It wasn't an easy journey for me together with these students throughout these years ”, Hon Driwaru stated as she acknowledged financial and other challenges she encountered along the way when she was supporting the vulnerable students. "Besides getting the scholarship, I would give each of them 300000/= for functional fees as well as pocket money," she said.
It didn't only stop at sponsoring vulnerable students to undergo Nursing and Midwifery courses in Institutes, the generous woman MP Hon Driwaru Jennifer also identified and enrolled some of the vulnerable students from poor backgrounds to go for further studies at Africa Renewal University.
She got them scholarships and then supported them with 300000/= each to support functional fees as well as relative pocket money.
"I'm forever grateful to God Almighty for making it possible to overcome the storm. Now that they are graduates we are starting yet another journey of facing the job world," she said.
