The woman MP for Terego District, Hon Obigah Rose, on Sunday, 23-3-2025, donated 3,000,000 shs to Muslims in Terego District to buy land and construct their headquarters.

This development by the Woman MP comes at a time when the Muslims in Terego District who have 54 mosques, have been facing challenges on how to coordinate their affairs amongst themselves and also with the NGOs and Government.

Abdu Razak, the AMIR for Muslims in Terego District while thanking the woman MP Hon Obigah Rose for contributing Shs 3M on top of what some people have also given for the purchase of the land for establishing Muslim union headquarters, appealed to the various Imums who were invited to witness handover of the money, urged them to go back to their various mosques to disseminate just the exact message of what has happened.

“In most cases, Muslims in Terego District have not been represented effectively in issues of governance”, the AMIR, Abdu stated as he noted that, several meetings with NGOs or Government officials in Terego District have been in the absentia of key Muslim leaders in the district because we are not formally organized with a Headquarter, where the NGO partners or Government sectors can deliver to our office, invitation letters for some of the meetings.

He rallied the Muslims, regardless of The Supreme Council Muslim factions or the Kibuli faction Muslims, to combine and offer their support for Hon Obigah Rose.

The secretary for Terego District Muslim Union, Juma Issa expressed shock over the work method of Hon Obigah Rose, he said, that sometimes they don't submit to her invitations or formal letters requesting financial support, but all of a sudden they just see her either coming physically to support the communities or sending delegation with financial support to address some of the challenges affecting the people of Terego District.
