Maracha District.
Following the recent creation of the Maracha Muslim District by the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council, they have been and are still operating without a proper headquarters from which they can coordinate and perform their affairs.
However, on Thursday, 27-3-202, the Maracha Muslim District union was blessed as the woman MP for Maracha district, Hon Driwaru Jennifer, gave them 3M shs out of the 5M Shs they have been lobbying from the public to ease their registration and mapping.
On the same occasion, Hon Driwaru Jennifer also gave the Muslim community 200 Kanzuz, 200 Kgs of Rice, Carpets, and Iron Sheets for roofing some of the mosques in Maracha District.
The woman MP for Maracha District, Hon Driwaru Jennifer, said it's one of her obligations as a leader to make sure she not only Lobbies but also acts as a bridge in linking her community members and associations to the relevant authorities that be, in bringing services closer to the people.
“Maracha Muslim District has been long overdue as people want their services near”, Hon. Jennifer asserted in her submission while noting that her financial and material contributions are out of humanity and love for her people and society.
This donation to the Muslims comes at a time when the Woman MP has also been giving out uniforms, monies, and other material support to the Protestant and Catholic religions in Maracha District.
Secretary for Maracha Muslim District, Apale Abdallah Aziz applauded the woman MP for her generosity and kindness in serving the people of Maracha District.
“This is not the first time Hon Driwaru Jennifer is supporting us the Muslims”, Apale stated as she recounted several items the woman MP donated for them and also the pertinent roles she played in pushing and securing Maracha Muslim District status from the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council.
Collins Dramani, the Assistant RDC for Maracha District, while appreciating the efforts of Hon Driwaru Jennifer and other people in formalizing the establishment of Maracha Muslim District, noted that, once completed, it will ease the working method and coordination between the Muslim community and the government.
The Assistant RDC used this opportunity to rally the clergy in mobilizing the flocks in their churches and mosques, to embrace government programs and participate in Socio-economic Transformation activities.
