Edema John Bosco Wants to Oust Hon Ruth Lematia from Maracha East MP Position.

The Production Superintendent at Kinyara Sugar Ltd, Mr. Edema John Bosco, who is someone from Oleba Sub-county, has declared his intention to oust the incumbent MP, Hon Ruth Lematia Molly Ondoru, and 5 other Candidates seeking the NRM party flag to contest for the position of Maracha East Constituency MP 2026 - 2031.

His declaration through designing a campaign poster colored with NRM Party color (yellow) and symbol, comes at a time when so far, 5 Candidates, namely;
Adima Patrick, Aduma Yeero Justus, Aliti Tom Candia, Amandu Tahiri Hussain Karim, and Ruth Lematia Molly Ondoru the incumbent, have all shown interest to tussle for the August / September 2025 NRM party primary election which will qualify one candidate to face off with opposition and other independent candidates who will be contesting for Maracha East Constituency MP seat in the upcoming 3-February-2026 general election.


WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE PREVIOUS ELECTION IN MARACHA EAST CONSTITUENCY.

On Friday 4-September-2020 NRM Party primary elections, 4 candidates contested in Maracha East Constituency, as follows;

1️⃣ Ruth Lematia garnered 12,194 votes.

2️⃣ Adima Patrick garnered 10,118 votes.

3️⃣ Angualia Richard garnered 2,106 votes.

4️⃣ William garnered 813 votes.

On Thursday 14-1-2021 during the general elections, 7 candidates contested in Maracha East Constituency and got the following votes;

1️⃣ Hon Lematia Ruth Molly Ondoru (NRM), garnered 12,460 votes and won the election.

2️⃣ Acidri James (Independent), garnered 6,543 votes.

3️⃣ Mawa John (FDC), garnered 2,768 votes.

4️⃣ Ajidiru Emilly (Independent), garnered 2,178 votes.

5️⃣ Onzima Sunday (Independent), garnered 1,473 votes.

6️⃣ Hon Adiga Wilfred Lawrence (Independent), garnered 705 votes.

7️⃣ Abiti Emmanuel (DP), garnered 255 votes.

This increasing number of potential candidates aspiring for the one seat of MP Maracha East Constituency makes the competition stiff for most of the Aspirants.

Hon Oguzu Lee Denis Drags to Court, Maracha Constituency MP-Elect Uhuru Nelson and Electoral Commission.

Following the 15-1-2026 general election, the two term MP for Maracha Constituency, Hon Oguzu Lee Denis has dragged to court the Winner for Maracha Constituency MP election, Uhuru Nelson as the first respondent and Election Commission as the second respondent.  📸: Copy of the court document shared in NEWS PLATFORM, one of the WhatsApp groups in WestNile region.
