Janet Okori-Moe (DWR Abim) who has held the top leadership for the Agriculture Committee for long, has finally been replaced by her former Deputy, Linda Agnes Auma (DWR Lira), who is now going to be deputized by Hope Grania Nakazibwe (Mubende DWR).

Gov’talso dropped Hon Noeline Kisembo Basemera (DWR Kibaale) and Abdi Fadhir Kisos Chemaswet (Soi County) from the top leadership of the Committee on East African Affairs, replacing the duo with Jeniffer Ayoo Nalukwago (Kalaki DWR), who will be deputized by Isaac Ssejoba (Bukoto Mid-West).

Government however maintained Wilson Kajwengye (Nyabushozi County) and Linos Ngompek (Kibanda North County) on the top leadership of the Defence and Internal Affairs Committee.

John Ntamuhira Twesigye (Bunyaruguru County) has been dropped as Chairperson, Committee of Education and Sports, but no replacement has been named, although James Kubeketerya (Bunya County East) has maintained his slot as Vice Chairperson, Education Committee.

Although Amos Kankunda (Rwampara County) has retained his position as Chairperson, Finance Committee, his former deputy, Jane Pacuto Avur (DWR Pakwach) been dropped and replaced with Moses Aleper (Chekwii County) as the new Vice Chairperson, Finance Committee.





Norah Bigirwa (DWR Buliisa) has also been dropped as Chairperson Foreign Affairs Committee and replaced with Catherine Lamwaka (Omoro DWR), who has been the Vice Chairperson, Trade and Toursim Committee. While Fred Opolot (Pingire County) has maintained his slot as Vice Chairperson, Foreign Affairs Committee.





The leadership of the Committee on Gender, Labour and Social Development led by Flavia Kabahenda (DWR Kyegegwa) and her deputy, (Sarah Najjuma (DWR Nakaseke) have all been dropped, and replaced with Rosemary Nyakikongoro (Sheema DWR) and Sowedi Kintanywa (Busongora North).

Charles Ayume (Koboko Municipality) has been dropped as Chairperson, Health Committee, although no one has been named as his replacement. However, Samuel @opio_acuti (Kole North County) has retained his position as Vice Chairperson.

Moses Hassim Magogo (Budiope East County) has been dropped as Chairperson ICT and National Guidance Committee, although his former deputy, Tonny Ayoo (Kwania County) has retained his slot as Vice Chairperson. Magogo’s replacement wasn’t named during designation.





Gov’t also dropped Emmanuel Otaala (West Budama South County) and Nathan Igeme Nabeta (Jinja South East Division) and Chairperson and Vice Chairperson on the Committee of Environment and Natural Resources.

Feta Geoffrey (Ayivu East) will steer this Committee as Vice Chairperson in the meantime, as Parliament awaits for the Chairperson to be named.



Both Robina Gureme Rwakoojo (Gomba West County) and Yusuf Mutembuli (Bunyole East County) have lost their leadership positions on the Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Committee.

John Teira (Bugabula County North) has been named as the new Vice Chairperson, although the person going to steer this Committee hasn’t yet been designated.

Dan Kimosho (Kazo County) and Tony Awany (Nwoya County) have retained their positions as Chairperson and Vice Chairperson respectively, on the Physical Infrastructure Committee.

Gov’t also dropped Jesca Ababiku (DWR Adjumani) who has for long held the top leadership of Presidential Affairs Committee, and Naome Kabasharira (Rushenyi County) former Vice Chairperson, but the new leadership to this Committee wasn’t designated, save for its members.

Although Martin Mapenduzi Ojara (Bardege-Layibi Division) retained his position as Chairperson, Committee of Public Service and Local Government, his former deputy, Christine Apolot (DWR Kumi) wasn’t lucky, after she was dropped, but her replacement wasn’t named during the designation.

Mwine Mpaka Rwamirama (Mbarara South Division) has been dropped as Chairperson Trade and Tourism Committee, while Boniface Okot (Youth Northern Region) has been named as Vice Chairperson, although the Chairperson to this Committee hasn’t been designated.

Parliament rejected the dropping of @AbedBwanika Bwanika (Kimanya-Kabonero) and @joycebagala1 Bagala (Mityana DWR) as the Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Government Assurance as had earlier been proposed by John Baptist Nambeshe, Chief Opposition Whip.

Wedded Ayivu West MP Lematia John Fights Over Another Woman.

Police in Arua district are investigating a case of assault and threatening violence involving the Member of Parliament for Ayivu West Constituency John Lematia and James Ariko, a DSTV technician in Arua city. Drama ensued on Easter Sunday 31-3-2024 at Dream Land Hotel located at Kuluva trading center along Arua-Nebbi highway in Arua district when the legislator and the technician engaged in a fight reportedly over a woman identified as Faith Eyotaru 25, a relationship officer at Victoria University Kampala.
