Maracha District Stakeholders Discuss Water Projects Lobbied by Aduma Yeero Justus.

Pragmatic Help Achieving Social Empowerment (PHASE) an NGO registered in Somalia in 2014 with funding from iDRF in Canada has on Monday 22-4-2024 held an inception meeting with Maracha District politicians, technocrats and clergies, to discuss distribution of a water project that will benefit 9 Sub-counties in Maracha East constituency.

The pre-planning meeting which was attended by the concerned stakeholders in the District resolved to drill the shallow wales lobbied by Mr Aduma Yeero Justus for the 9 Sub-counties in Maracha East constituency based on needs assessment.

The country director and also the Program and Technical manager for PHASE Organization, Mr Aduma Yeero Justus says areas that will benefit from this water project will be done on needs assessment.
He assured the people that, this charity program meant to benefit the community, will not have compensation for the land that will be volunteered by any of the beneficiaries for implementation.

Hon Asibazuyo Grace the Female Councilor representing the people of Alikua and Yivu Sub-county in Maracha District council appealed to the people not to politicize the water project.

Eng Oneti William, the Maracha District water officer upon welcoming the project, thanked PHASE Organization and its program and technical manager Mr Aduma Yeero Justus for being a lobbyist.

The councilor representing people of Agaii town council, Hon Asea Bosco who is also the LC5 Vice Chairperson, asked the LC3 Chairpersons of the 9 Sub-counties to whole-heartedly embrace the project.
He thanked Mr Aduma Yeero Justus for the lobbying, as he criticizes the people of Maracha District for having a negative mentality of always criticizing things without appreciating.

Maracha District deputy RDC Koliba Monica Kotevu urged the LC3 Chairpersons to be transparent in identifying the area in their Sub-counties on which the project will be implemented.
She appealed to the concerned stakeholders to do more sensitization so that the communities can volunteer to offer land for the project.

According to the statistics from Water office Maracha, the District had access to safe water coverage at 86% but it has drastically reduced to 72% because of operationalization and maintenance challenges of water sources and facilities in the district.

Wedded Ayivu West MP Lematia John Fights Over Another Woman.

Police in Arua district are investigating a case of assault and threatening violence involving the Member of Parliament for Ayivu West Constituency John Lematia and James Ariko, a DSTV technician in Arua city.
