The relatives, clan members and politicians have on Monday 8-January-2024 kicked off preparations in Tumvea village, Offude parish in Maracha east constituency, Maracha District ahead of the funeral of District Health Officer (DHO) for Masindi district Dr Abiriga Jino.
The news of his death went viral on Sunday 7-January-2024 after it was revealed that, some unknown assailants slaughtered him with knife and dumped his body near the neighborhood in his residence in Masindi district.

While describing how social and generous Dr Abiriga Jino was, Mr Nale Edward one of the clan members in Tumvea clan who had a personal experience when he went to the late Dr for treatment some years ago, he was given 250,000 Shs on top of the free treatment he gave to him, something the elder said was the unique caring character Dr Abiriga had for everyone who went for him in Masindi district for treatment or any other help.
One of the wives of Dr Abiriga Jino, Mrs Betty Abiriga who got married with him on 4-April-1986 when the late was in P.7, is decrying who will take care of her, paying school fees of children in this family and across other regions which the late has been paying.
Workers representative in Maracha District council, Hon Alema Dicky eulogized the late as a resourceful person.
He added that, if it was not because of rule of law, such people who murdered Dr Abiriga Jino need to be brought to firing squad.
