CENTRAL DIVISION ARUA CITY MP RACE: OPINION POLL CONDUCTED BY AN NGO PUTS EJIKU ROBERT AT 80% AHEAD OF 2026 GENERAL ELECTIONS.
By Adomati Dickson.
Parliamentary election opinion poll for 2026-2031 puts Ejiku Robert at 80% ahead of all prospective candidates according to a recent survey conducted by a local NGO-ACTION FOR CITIZENS CHOICE.
According to the NGO, the incumbent MP has performed so badly that he is at a paltry 20% as of December 1st, 2023.
The survey which was carried out in Arua central division and Ayivu division of which the respondents were political, technical, religious, cultural and some powerful business moguls concluded that due to so many unfulfilled pledges by the incumbent such as the 200 million shillings he had promised to give the youth and women, the aborted fundraising which culminated into opening of an abandoned Youth Skilling Centre, the 6 coasters he hasn't procured for the 6 wards of the central division as pledged by him, the undelivered iron sheets for the Youth Centre provided by the deputy speaker of Parliament, sharp disagreement with his key agents and mobilisers, an unprecedented fall out with journalists and generally with media practitioners in the city, too much anger, rough approach to governmental issues, divisive & repulsive character and general lack of cooperation with political, technical, religious and cultural leaders of Arua city which has led to extremely poor work relations in the city, the MP shall not be able to return to Parliament.
On the other hand, the research which was funded by some powerful businessmen and women, academia and political leaders of the city found that Ejiku Robert still has intact support having been runner up in the NRM primaries in 2020. That Ejiku is a reliable, humorous, down to earth philanthropist, education lover and development minded who the people of Arua have missed at the helm of the central division.
ACTION FOR CITIZENS CHOICE therefore concluded that Ejiku Robert is that missing link once elected will offer the much needed leadership that will unite the people of the city.
The research which was comrehensively conducted from 1st November to 30th November, 2023 (a period of one month) further found that once voted to Parliament, Ejiku will on the onset be appointed minister because he is a composed, well read and knowledgeable gentleman.
The poll which has kept findings on other prospective candidates confidential intimated that it will release the report in the next publication.
However, according to reliable sources, the incumbent MP is aware that his ground is fragile and delicate and therefore intends to pump a lot of money to lure the unsuspecting and gullible members of the city to secure victory in the 2026-2031 Parliamentary elections.
Many argue that whether money will save the incumbent's neck is a matter that is to be decided by time.
