INDUSTRIAL CITY DIVISION LEGISLATOR HON KARIM MASABA SOLVES THE PROLONGED LAND WRANGLE BETWEEN INDUSTRIAL SINO PARK MANAGEMENT AND THE RESIDENTS.



The chaos over Land that erupted between the leaders of Industrial Park and residents of Masanda cell in Nabitiri Ward has come to an end. 

This came following the meeting that was held last week to discuss how best the leadership of industrial park and residents can be in good terms. 

The meeting involved Sino Uganda Mbale industrial park Manager who represented the Park, local leaders who represented the residents, Hon Karim Masaba the Area Member of Parliament among others.

During the meeting Kassaja Bosco the Lc2 of Nabitiri parish expressed locals concerns like Fear of forceful grabbing of their land and demand of involvement local leaders in anything concerning locals and the park.

He added the local demand for prevention of any danger which can be caused by the tunnel of the park. 

Bosco further noted that the locals working in the park should be provided with provisional gate to ease transport on the other side of the park and also the park should look for ways of cutting off transport costs.

“We need more jobs for our people.” Said Bosco  

Laurent Zhang the manager of Mbale Industrial Park who chaired the meeting promised to work on the issues raised in the meeting and as management they are ready to work with the people and leaders of the area.

Mr. Laurent further assured the Local leaders that the Sino Industrial park will not grab or involve in any land grabbing. 

Hon Karim Masaba the Member of Parliament representing Industrial City Division during the meeting, suggested that a mini pathway should be created for the locals and a chain link should be put in place to avoid any accidents.

He requested Local leaders who represented the Residents to welcome and work together with Industrial park since it has promoted the economic activities in area by offering better employment opportunities to the people.

Police in Arua district are investigating a case of assault and threatening violence involving the Member of Parliament for Ayivu West Constituency John Lematia and James Ariko, a DSTV technician in Arua city.
