MMRat Android Trojan Executes Remote Financial Fraud Through Accessibility Feature.

A previously undocumented Android banking trojan dubbed MMRat has been observed targeting mobile users in Southeast Asia since late June 2023 to remotely commandeer the devices and perform financial fraud. "The malware, named after its distinctive package name com.mm.user, can capture user input and screen content, and can also remotely control victim devices through various techniques, enabling its operators to carry out bank fraud on the victim's device," Trend Micro said. What makes MMRat stand apart from others of its kind is the use of a customized command-and-control (C2) protocol based on protocol buffers (aka protobuf ) to efficiently transfer large volumes of data from compromised handsets, demonstrating the growing sophistication of Android malware. Possible targets based on the language used in the phishing pages include Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, and the Philippines. The entry point of the attacks is a network of phishing sites that mimic

I KNOCKED SOMEONE’S CHICKEN ON THE ROAD, NOW THEY ARE ASKING ME TO COMPENSATE THEM.

📸: Daily Mail. Tata Brian's business is keeping and selling healthy, delicious chicken. He always says that the reason why his chicken is the best is because they eat from everywhere, including on the road and in the trenches. So he lets them loose every day so that they 'find their own food'. This morning, a 'mugaaga' who drives a big car stepped and killed one of his prized chickens.   Taata Brian wants one million as compensation for his 'rare' chicken, which would have educated Brian up to university. Does he have a case? WHAT DOES THE LAW SAY?.  When a person destroys another person's property, the person who destroyed the property is legally supposed to either compensate or replace the property. For example, if you break someone's phone, then this person has every right to demand that you repair their phone. This is the law when this happens when you are legally in a place or at your own property. For example, if someone knocks you

Former Buganda minister Joyce Nabbosa Ssebuggwawo, who led the group, has been accused of attempting to deceive President Museveni by using opportunistic and self-serving individuals. In a similar vein, Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga emphasized that all clan heads derive their authority from the Kabaka of Buganda and could face dismissal if they veer away from the cultural norms and principles. During an address to the Buganda Lukiiko on August 28, Katikkiro Mayiga stressed that the Kabaka holds the authority to remove any clan head and even disba

Wedded WestNile MP from a Constituency Bordering Congo Has Abandoned Two Ladies After Impregnating Them.

A top NRM Member of Parliament (MP) in the West Nile region (names withheld for now) has joined the record books of horny wedded men bonking people’s women like no one’s business in Uganda. The MP who happily wedded in the Catholic Church, promising to stick to his wife till death separates them has already made a U-turn, pocketing his wedding ring wherever he goes out. Reports reaching our news desk indicate that the relatively short MP has so far ballooned two ladies from his constituency and dumped them to suffer with the kids. The women are now living with their parents whom the MP on different occasions requested to surrender their daughters to him for sponsorship. He promised to take the girls to school in Kampala but reaching there, the MP who also loves choir business in the church turned his seven-inch whopper on the innocent girls. As a result, the MP ballooned both of them and later brought them back to his border constituency with DR Congo where th

IS IT "MURDER" IF SOMEONE IS KILLED BY A CAR?.

Kabaati has just been arrested, and he is on his way to the police cell. What happened is that he bought a new car today from the bond, and he was driving out, he was rammed by another car. When the owner of the other car came out to escape on foot, Kabaati tried to block him and instead knocked him and the poor man died. Police arrived and arrested him. They have told him that he is going to be charged with murder. One of the people who was in the car with Kabaati wants to know if this is not a traffic offence.  What does the law say ?. It is not true that every time a death occurs, it is a case of murder. First, it is illegal to take another person's life without lawful justification. For example, if you take someone's life because you were defending yourself, it would mean you have a lawful justification called "Self Defense". Usually, when a person is killed by a motor vehicle on the road, it is a traffic offence. This means that when a person causes t

His name can be a source of wealth, jobs and livilihood for the region and nation if we narture. Akin to Nelson Mandela, Amin's name can become a source of wealth and livilihood for many people through tourism and its multiplier effect.  Like Mandela House in Soweto (now Nelson Mandela National Moseum) which  receives 700 to 1,000 visitors every day from all over the world, a proposed IDI Amin Moseum in Arua City can be a destination for global community seeking to explore the mystery sorrounding the life of Idi Amin.  Just like for South African locals cognizant of the opportunities that abound Mandela House located at No. 8115 at the corner of Vilakazi and Ngakane streets in Soweto,  the proposed IDI Amin Moseum can be offer market for local food, arts and crafts to be sold around the Moseum and in the areas adjacent. Country’s most wanted terrorist cornered, killed.

One of the few known images of Bonomade Machude Omar The government of Mozambique says its armed forces have killed the leader of a jihadist group linked to Islamic State which is fighting in the north of the country. The defence ministry said Bonomade Machude Omar – also known as Ibn Omar – had led the insurgents since the start of the conflict in 2017. A statement said he was killed along with two other senior members. There has been no independent confirmation of the deaths. Two years ago, the US state department designated Omar as a terrorist leader, blaming him for attacks in Cabo Delgado province, including the killing of dozens of people at a hotel in Palma. A month before that, Mozambique’s military launched a major offensive against the Islamists with  the support of hundreds of soldiers from Rwanda and several southern African countries . According to the government, Omar and two associates from the Islamic State-linked group were killed in a forest in Macomia in an operation

IF I PAY MY TAXES FAITHFULLY, ISNT IT ILLEGAL TO STOP ME FROM USING THE ROAD WHEN I WANT TO?.

📸 International Institute of Tropical Agriculture. From the time that the road in his village in Kayuinga was tarmacked, Kiberu has been a happy man. Every morning, he gets up early and spreads his maize to dry on a clean tarmac road. In fact he does not have to remove dust or dirt from his maize anymore. He sells clean maize, and even the flour he makes from it has no dirt or stones. Last weekend, police suddenly showed up and told Kiberu to remove his maize from the road. He told them that he pays his taxes, and it is his taxes that build roads so he refused. As we speak, the police have arrested Kiberu and put him in police cells. Has Kiberu committed any crime? Isn’t the road his to use because he pays taxes?. WHAT DOES THE LAW SAY ?. By law, a public road is any road that the public uses or has a right to use. This means that every road that anyone can freely use without being called a trespasser. For example, if there is a road that only belongs to certain people,

What is a VPN server, exactly?.

A VPN server is a server belonging to a  virtual private network . In short, it’s remote physical hardware used to route your connection when you use VPN software. When your VPN is active, your personal web traffic travels via an encrypted tunnel through a server before it is sent to its destination. This process takes place in secure tunnels. But increased security isn’t the only benefit.  When you use a VPN, the server you connect to masks your true  IP address . with its own IP address. As a result, you’ll appear as if you’re actually connecting from your server’s location rather than your true physical location. Why should I use a VPN server to change my IP address? You may not realize it, but your IP address has significant ramifications over your online privacy and freedom. Without VPN protection, your real IP address is vulnerable to the prying eyes of third parties and snoopers. And with your IP address, they can target you with area-specific ads, monitor your perso
