The Member of Parliament for Gomba West Hon Rwakoojo Robina Gureme has urged parents in Madi Okollo and West Nile to take good care of their children. She was representing the Speaker of Parliament Rt Hon Annet Anita Among at the thanksgivings and celebration of Hon Joanne Aniku Okia the woman MP of Madi Okollo.
" Parents do take good care of your children, talk to them to understand their challenges, help them with homework, involve yourself in activities at their school, create a good working relationship with the school administrators and always support the schools where your children do study from. I can assure you your children can perform better and become good and useful citizens, who will serve their communities and country better. We and colleagues also went to rural and remote schools, but our parents did their best within their means" she noted
Bishop Collins Andaku, of Madi and West Nile Diocese, strongly empathized the need to educate children, and always be thankful to God, for his provision, mercy, care and blessings in life. When we thank God, he creates peace in our hearts, glorifies him, deepens our relationship with him, draws us closer ever, elevates our humility and opens our spiritual eyes to see God's face in our lives.
The function was attended by Hon Atima Jackson, the Government Regional Whip for West Nile, Hon Ssekitoleeko Robert, Hon Dr Charles Ayume, Hon Dr Atae Sharifah Taban, Hon Fox Odoi, Hon Afidra Olema Ronald, Hon Musherure Shartsi Kutesa, Hon Paparu Lillian, Hon Bernard Odoi and Hon Lematia Ruth, who collectively urged the people of Madi Okollo to keep and vote back Hon Joanne Okia come 2026.
" We want to thank the people of Madi Okollo for voting such a open hearted person, who within two years has created many friends, and doing a commendable job for his people both in Parliament and constituency. We have come here to testify that you have the best woman MP in Hon Joanne Okia, so support her to deliver to you"
The function was graced with the celebration of one year of the establishment of Voice of Madi Radio, an initiative by Hon Joanne Okia to facilitate communication between the communities and leaders, for easy social economic transformation, through sensitization of the people about government programs.
