Outgoing Arua District CAO Handsover Office and Accountability to Incoming CAO.

The outgoing Chief Administrative Officer for Arua District, Mr Jude Paul Bukenya has on Wednesday 19-7-2023 handed over office of Arua District Chief Administrative Officer vote 810, to the incoming Chief Administrative Officer Mr Nicholas Ogwang who was formerly the CAO for Omoro District.


While handing over the office, the outgoing CAO Mr Jude Bukenya who has been transferred to Kyankwanzi District, praised Arua District council as one of the best councils in the entire WestNile region, noting that, he didn't get misunderstandings with any of the council members or the LC V Chairperson.


Mr Jude also accounted to the quorum about remaining balance of Shs 279 million in the bank account of Arua District. 



The incoming CAO Mr Nicholas Ogwang thanked Arua District leaders for building a team compromising of religious leaders, and he pledged to continue building on the milestone foundation that has been laid in the district.

Mr Jude Bukenya having been transferred as a Deputy CAO from Wakiso District to Arua District on 16-7-2021 as an Acting CAO and later on promoted as a substantive CAO, Arua district LC V Chairperson Hon Alfred Okuonzi described Arua District as a grooming bed for public servants and he mentioned URA Commissioner General Mr Abel Kagumire, Omoro District DHO Mr Robert Ongom and Arua City clerk Mr Paul Batanda among others, as living testimonies to his statement.


He thanked the outgoing CAO Mr Jude Paul Bukenya for working tirelessly amidst challenges and meager resources in the district.


The resident district commissioner for Arua District, Mr Okiswa Geoffrey described the incoming CAO Mr Nicholas Ogwang as the best replacement for the outgoing CAO Mr Jude Paul Bukenya.

Police in Arua district are investigating a case of assault and threatening violence involving the Member of Parliament for Ayivu West Constituency John Lematia and James Ariko, a DSTV technician in Arua city.
