Amolatar Riots.
The belligerent response witnessed this morning Monday 17-7-2023, in which the communities within Namasali town council were finally brought to order when the district security committee lead by RDC Amolatar Okello Francis Odoki Rwotlonyo intervened in engaging the communities on the misinformation doctored by some local petrimental leaders; who alleged that some baruri from Nakasongola were on their way to occupy back their ancestral land in Namasali town council Amolatar District, this sentiments went viral and fueled more anger from over two thousand people residing within Namasali TC.
Facts on the ground:
Miss Katushabe Juliet daughter tolate Kaweki Nafutali formerly resident of Bungu cell in Namasali Town council, Amolatar District, who left bungu in during the late 70’s. His eldest son who is alleged to be the estate administrator sold off the land to Mr. Okello Moses and other occupants measuring approximately 35 acres. what is quite nauseating here, is that Miss Katushabe through her lawyers Eyotr $ Co. Advocate located at Mirembe House Makerere hill, drafted a legal notice claiming over 100 acres which literally covers two parishes in the Town Council, additionally, the land wrangles between the Locals within Amolatar and the Namasali community traces its origin back from time immemorial. Miss Katushabe has frequented the place with her claims several times. The lady with me lost all her possessions in the demonstration, including her houses got burned completely, the security team on the ground are accessing the level of damages including the perpetrators who took advantage of the demonstration which went tribal between the locals and the non lango speaking tribe especially the Baruli. These barbaric actions should be condemned by any right thinking Ugandan within and outside northern Uganda.
