Arua Chief Magistrate HIS Worship Obong Commends Koboko Councillors for Peaceful By-election of Their Speakers.

His worship George Obong ,the Chief magistrate of Arua has uplauded koboko district Council for showing spirit of team work during election new district speaker and the deputy.
The chief magistrate on Tuesday presided over the election of new district speaker and deputy after koboko district lost former district speaker Charles akim last week from mulago national referral hospital.
During elections, Andabati Richard Baker district Councillor for Keri town Council was elevated from deputy speaker position to speakership in a nomination fronted by satina zulaika ,female district Councillor representing dranya and lubule subcounties.
The nomination of Andabati was by consensus supported by the rest of Council members.
Similarly,Rasul maliamugu,the male district councillor representing ludara subcounty was nominated and seconded for deputy speaker position.
Hon, Rasul maliamugu receives instruments of power from Koboko district chief administrative officer on Tuesday.The Chief magistrate, George obong pleased with process, commended the district Councillors for practicing politics of peace and love.
"Leadership by consensus is what we still lack in our DNA, it is very common to find people lamenting how very expensive it is to contest in political positions, even as low as lc1 people spend money so ideally my brother here would have spent a lot of money but as koboko district you have informed us that you don't buy such practice!" said obong.
Arua chief magistrate, worship George obong in suit addressing the August house on Tuesday.The new Koboko district speaker, Andabati Richard Baker while accepting the responsibility said,"I am grateful for your confidence in me and work I do, I have always believed in the idea that when we work together as family towards something with passion and perseverance there are no limits to what we can achieve."
Late akim Charles died last week from Mulago referral hospital of hypertension, diabetes and strock weeks after he had collapsed on duty from koboko.
Akimu Charles became koboko district on 19 may 2021 , he died at 49 years old and has been survived by a widow and four children of which two are girls and two boys.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
