HEAVY STORM DEVASTATES, MARACHA DISTRICT STAKEHOLDERS CRY OUT FOR HELP.

Maracha district stakeholders have appealed for urgent relief intervention from Ministry of disaster and preparedness following wide range of devastation caused by trails of heavy Storm.
The district recorded massive destruction to buildings following Sunday evening storm leaving several people homeless in the affected areas.
Azipi primary school in oleba subcounty was the most affected where the heavy Storm that lasted for more than three hours de-roofed block that used to accommodate three classes and headteacher's offices setting school stakeholders into  ponder

On the western wing of the school, two houses of the teaching staff including the kitchen of the headteacher were blown off leaving the two teachers homeless.
According to the school headteacher, Mr Ronald Govule, the Sunday incident that started at around 8:40pm 16-4-2023 left them counting loses since the blown off roof affected purpose headteachers office and classrooms of primary one to three.
"In that occurance all government properties which are in the heateacher's office including most needed stationery and documentations were all destroyed"the headteacher explained.
The heateacher who further terms the incident as been unfortunate said the tradegy befell them at time the school has over the years  lagged behind infrastructure.
The pupils of the school were on Monday temporarily sent back home as stakeholders forged ways to accommodate them.

The incident at the school has since attracted a number of sympathizers who can not do much owing financial crises.
Mr,Asindu zuberi,a parent said, I am a parent of two pupils in the school,this incident is the most regrettable and  it's the third time we are witnessing such occurrence in the school,this block and part other block were affected by previous storms.

The school PTA chairperson, Mr Stephen adia that the press team found on ground expressed his unhappiness at former headteachers of the school that he said had disregarded their advise of not allowing cut down of surrounding trees.
"Previously we had enough trees that acted as windbreak and we had hinded thar before a tree is fallen, replacement be done but all these were defied by former heateachers"
Stephen warned that, "from here we have suggested that any person who risk cutting trees on the school compound shall be apprehended".

Mr Alfonse Dratre, chairperson school management committee equally regrets  the Sunday's tradegy saying they are left with no other option but to seek support of the neighborhood church to temporarily accommodate the affected classes.
Maracha district secretary for social services,Mr Alema dicky was amongst the district officials who visited the scene.
"This is already state of emergency, let PTA organize to accommodate the affected teachers in rentals in the meantime,it's very unfortunate and disaster where we can not hold someone responsible," Alema advised.
He further rallied area mps to urgently call for rescue interventions  from ministry of disaster and preparedness.
"I have also been informed that the old classroom block  of all saint a school has been blown off, this is the school where construction are going under UGFT program to elevate it government seed secondary school".

Ambassador Angualia Richard Perished in a Fatal Accident.

Lab Student Drowned, Body Missing in Rokoze Lake in Nyadri Sub-county, Maracha District.
