Teaching staff from maracha secondary school have come out to distance themselves from the allegations of been responsible for causing uprise of students against the school head and the director of studies.
The Teachers were responding to repeated statements by the school headteacher, Leku Daniel told press and director of studies Mr Omuyo Yosam in the stakeholders meeting that a section of Teachers who are against them for personal reasons were using students body to fight them.
During the crisis meeting held on Thursday to resolve management challenges in the school, student's leadership union board through their memorandum presented 14 grounds accusing the school head and director of studies of incompetence which they alleged has translated into poor admistration of the school prompting their Wednesday's conduct of peaceful demonstration from school to the district headquarters in demanding transfer of the school head and also either transfer or else demotion of Directors of studies from holding the position.
The student's memorandum was presented by the school head prefect, Cosmas ojaku.
"Therefore, from look of things in the school members attributed the causes on the headteacher and DOS because, the headteacher maintain poor working relationship with the teachers hence making the teachers, student leaders and students at large move away from him,does not want advise due to the fact that he assumed to be having autonomous power thus despising advice adding the headteacher is incompetent ,very irregular within the school premises as such he has failed to control both teachers and students resulting into the state of anarchy in admistration" said the head prefect.
The head prefect further said, director of studies does not follow teachers who boycott lessons, has loose talks about admistration to students for cheap popularity, generally lazy and emotionally immature and misinforms the headteacher about students."
Director of studies Omuyo Yosam dispels off the complaints of the students saying section of teachers envying and fighting him are simply using students to fight wars on their behalf.
"when Rdc came to my office and asked for the name of teachers who did not report to school I mentioned alioma tito,amaniyo gladies and ogwang Peter and I gave the information because the RDC needed it but when they were called alioma tito came for me complaing that am the one reporting him for Rdc! Omuyo exclaimed before the gathering.
Omuyo added that, when I called the teachers to set Mock exams they refused ,we spent 3 million, madira refused completely, he came and picked the paper when they distributed to students he said this is useless and so when the students rise against me I forgive them it's the teachers.
However, alioma tito a teacher from the school that the Omuyo earlier accused of threatening his life laughted out the allegations saying they have no personal interests.
Alioma said in the school they are always faced up with negative energies of been frustrated by the school head whenever they take a decision to discipline students who go against school rules and regulations.
"It is majorly discipline because when you deal with discipline your are called in office shouted at and criticised adding a student will tell you once you purnish him he would report you to the head teacher, what do you do in such situation?" Alioma asked
John bosco feta, the teachers representative to PTA admitted observations of the students as been true reflection of situations at the school but not been influenced.
Feta lashed out at the Director of studies for been incompetent ,carrying loose talks about school administration to students and not leading by example as he called on DOS to voluntarily step down his position.
"my brother is very irregular in class when former headteacher Mr ondua reversed his transfer by the time five teachers in the school were transferred, Mr omuyo stayed for one year without teaching, as a trained teacher with heart and getting salary ,can you stay one year without teaching and how do you expect such person to be our director of studies?Feta sought to understand.
