Majority of stakeholders who showed up for Maracha secondary school  emergency meeting convened to address the school management challenges amongst others recommended for transfer of school head ,Mr Daniel Leku.
The stakeholders also gave two weeks ultimatum for BOG instituted commission of inquiry to complete and present their findings of other possible root causes of unrest in the school.
The meeting was triggered by peaceful demonstration  conducted on Wednesday by section of  students from the school to the district headquarters in protest of  what they termed as poor admistration by the school head hence demanding for immediate transfer of their headteacher  Leku Daniel and  director of studies Mr Yosam Omuyo.

During Thursday's meeting  the  student's leadership union board in their memorandum fronted over 13 reasons explaining their actions .
Included was alleged incompetence of the accused leaders for which students maintained their position to have headteacher transferred and the director of studies either demoted from the position or else moved away.

Head prefect, Ojaku Cosmas presenting student's leadership memorandum before stakeholders on Thursday 23-3-2023.

The school headteacher,Mr Leku Daniel was not in attendance to substantiate some of the allegations that emerged against him during the meeting as he was taken up for official duty in Arua City
However, the director of studies, Mr Yosam omuyo washed down the allegations saying the student leaders have been backed by section teachers who are against him and headteacher.
The counter accusations  generated reactions from other stakeholders in attendance who instead praised the aggrieved students for considering proper and peaceful means of seeking support to address the management challenges at the school.
'Members if we start moving this way we shall take two days to finish this meeting,in a situation where we have like poles existing we have problems, can like poles attract ?they can not! asked and answered, Mr Stephen obitre the district chairperson
obitre added ,this is exactly what's happening in Maracha and what these students have pointed out is the truth!.
There is that friction between administration and teachers let's not hide that! obitre exclaimed amidst uploud from gathering.
Maracha district secretary of social services ,Mr Alema Dicky spoke the heart of the gathering when he stated that, 'members there is problem with school administration of Maracha ss, emanating from what the learners have written and teachers respectively ,there is serious problem!' while referring to a common proverb that says a fish will always begin to rot from the head.
Dicky further argues that,'when there is a problem with the Headteacher let's say there is a problem and what should we to about him ? I see an element of protecting some people here at the expense of our place.
Waga Charles,an old student of the school observed maladministration causing increased cases of indiscipline amongst the students.
'What I have noted now is maladministration which has manifested in so many things, indiscipline is on rise amongst the students because of I don't care attitude,it thus affect performance as students are here for leisure.'
'Teachers do not want to perform assigned duties because administration is poor!', Waga said this as he called for transfer of Headteacher and errant teachers.
The area district councillor representing Nyadri subcounty , Aliociri museli Luka who wandered why problems have continuously emerged from Maracha ss out of many secondary schools in the district also rallied for transfer of the school head.
'There are so many schools here in the district, why are there no problems like Maracha ss, Mr CAO , RDC and DEO the issue here is the headteacher,he should be transferred!, Aliociri said loudly amidst chears and ululations from gathering
However, calm was restored in the meeting when BOG chairperson ,Geria Patrick through the committee of inquiry promised to investigate and come with  comprehensive report.
Geria called on stakeholders to support the inquiry team with data and evidences.
'If I write today as BoG and rest members sign to say we want the headteacher out , the ministry will ask what is your reason?'  Geria sought for legal guidance.
He then continued, the maladministration in the school is true but we need to give it a backing.
Maracha RDC Festus ayikobua during the meeting directed the school BOG to ensure  objective and conclusive inquiry to once resolve the beakering in the school.
'Don't think the investigation we are crying for will be for nothing, it will be there to take actions and shall not spare anyone' emphasized  Maracha RDC.
Mr abima Simon ,an inspector of school from directorate of secondary education standard called on the school stakeholders to find lasting solution for internal beakering affecting the school.

  1. This problem of Maraca SS is not a new thing!
It has over stayed! I'm commenting as previous parent who transfered his child away from S5!
The administration (Htr&dhtr/dos) have a lot of arrogance and do not listen to students, therefore, can not attend to students' problems and issues!
They are to be demoted, if they are transfered, which school are they going to miss-administer?!
