Makella is a member of Mwoyo Gwe Church. The choir leader Anateo had been single for a long time because he was waiting for a sign from God. So for a marriage to be valid, both parties should consent (agree) to the marriage. If a person is forced to get married through force, threats, manipulation or fraud, then we can say that consent was obtained illegally. To put it simply, Makella cannot be forced to marry Anateo. Her choice as an individual is to decide who and when she marries. If she decides she does not want to marry Anateo, then she cannot be made to marry Anateo.
