Arua District Emyooga Leaders Ask RDC to Intervene as Sacco Members Default on Repayment.

During a meeting held this morning 17-12-2022 in Vurra sub-county, Vurra constituency Arua District, Mr Adukule Godfrey the Arua District emyooga produce chairman said, they have found it very difficult to recover monies they dispatched to various Emyooga sacco groups in Arua District.

A total of 63 groups were registered in Arua District with a fully paid 200,000 Shs membership fees per each group, out of which, 31 groups are only active and the rest are defaulters.

Speaking during the meeting, the Emyooga Sacco group secretaries and treasurers raised a number of challenges that have been hindering their performance in Emyooga, including among other;

1. Arrogance and none compliance by some sacco members to pay back the monies borrowed.

The treasurer for Veterans Emyooga Sacco group said, in their group, there is a one veteran soldier who has completely refused to pay the money he borrowed from the group.

He said, since he is from a civilian background, he fears to ask that veteran soldier to payback the money he borrowed from the Sacco.
