Four Arrested in Arua District, Others on the Run After They Were Intercepted with 157 Stolen Iron Bars in a Fuso Lorry.

The police in Arua District have today 23-11-2022 arrested four workers of Contractor MWL Company ltd following outcry from the locals who caught them in the middle of the night 1am loading iron bars in a Fuso Lorry registration number UBE 301 Y whose driver took off after seeing the residents mobilizing in large numbers at night while the looting was going on.

The multi-million bridge whose contract is funded by Ministry of Agriculture to the tune of Shs 980,000,000 was scheduled to be completed in eight months from May-2022 and January-2023.
Arua District officials are worried that, the construction project of Adroyi bridge with a stretch of 5km road to be constructed may not be achievable because of the six months that have elapsed yet the current stage of the work is at 40%.
The four arrested are; Mwesigwa Mitek, 27 years old, Muganda.
Aluko Bonny 32 years old, Lango.
Semakula Francis 26 years old, brother of the Contractor, Muganda.
Apali Francis 51 years old, Lango.
During an interrogation by Arua District officials, the LC V Chairman Hon Okuonzi Alfred, Deputy RDC Mr Ezama Ham Mizamil, CAO, DPC, Hon Candini Luiji Councillor / Secretary for security tasked the site Engineer and other workers of the contractor to tell them truth about the events.
