Students Send Death Threats to Teachers, as School Adminstrators Blame Strikes on Covid-19, Opium and Alcohol.

In a meeting held today 26-3-2022 attended by head masters, teachers, parents and councillors in Terego District, post Covid-19 effects and drug abuse are cited to be the causes of Strikes.
While speaking, the head master for Wandi Progressive Secondary School, Mr Ojaku Eric gave an example where, students wanted to strike in that evening of AFCON Cup finals.
He said, after evening studies that ended at 9pm, the students began shouting on the compound, protesting they will cause havoc if the administration does not allow them to watch AFCON cup finals.
Due to the rising tension that evening, the teachers called him on phone saying the students want to strike over watching football.
He said, he had to come to school that night and instructed the teachers to abide by what the students were commanding.
Since that same day was also the day when the students elected their new school prefects, they were allowed to watch the football match upto 1am.
The headmaster said, reaching in the morning, they found over 30 empty bottles and suckets of Waragi (Alcohol) scattered on the compound.
When they entered into some dormitories, they got some of the students, probably those who might have over drunk alcohol that night were still sleeping.
On two occasions, where it was a public holiday, the students locked a teacher inside class room citing it was a public holiday (Easter) and they don't want any teacher to come teach them.
To an alarming level, some students had become more of a rebel than an ordinary student, an allegation the Adminstrators backed with an evidence showing a paper on which the students wrote letters, threatening to kill some teachers.
Here are some of the copies of death threat letters the student wrote, in which, they asked school Adminstrators to bring soldiers to discipline them.
The Adminstrators further said, sex is some of the big challenges they have observed in the schools now days.
They said, Boys in the schools see girls more as sexual partners but not as fellow students.
The quorum busted into laughter when they said, the way Boys admire the buttocks of the ladies when walking is so worrying.

Stay tuned for more updates.
