The President of Malawi, Dr Lazarus Chakwera has fired his entire cabinet over corruption concerns.
In his address to the nation, after firing the ministers last night President Chakwera vowed to confront all forms of lawless conduct by public officials.
He said a new cabinet will be announced in two days.
Three ministers are facing charges of abuse of office with the minister of lands having been arrested last month in a bribery case.
The labour minister has been accused of diverting COVID-19 funds while his energy counterpart has been blamed for meddling with fuel deals.
All the ministers have denied the allegations.
Dr Chakwera was elected in 2020 promising to fight corruption.
