Over 2000 Soldiers Deployed in Sembabule District as President Museveni's Brother Kaguta Godfey Battles with Sam Kutesa's Daughter Shartsi Kuteesa for Mawogoli North Parliamentary Seat.
Residents in Mawogola North have started gathering at their different polling stations ahead of a very a tight race between Godfrey Kaguta and Shartsi Kuteesa.
The election between President Museveni’s brother and Foreign Affairs minister Sam Kutesa’s daughter has been postponed several times because of violence and rigging.
Heavy security deployment has been cited on every polling station in Mawogola North involving over 2,000 UPDF soldiers.
The election kicked off at precisely 12:00pm.
NRM Electoral Commission Chairman Dr Tanga Odoi has threatened to nullify any candidate in Both Mawogola West and North if found engaging in any form of electoral violence.
The security situation in Sembabule district is still calm with the security teams on alert to monitor the ongoing NRM primaries in Mawogola North constituency.
The Director of CID, Grace Akullo has also joined the team in the area.
Contestants have rejected the use of National Identity Cards in today’s elections.
