Article 29 of the Constitution says that every person has the freedom of joining any association or union such as trade unions or political and civic organisations. The Political Parties and organisations Act 2005 says that every citizen of Uganda shall have the freedom to form or join and be part of any political party of their choice.
Based on the law, even if your MP is your representative, he is still a citizen of Uganda and he/she has those those rights under the law. So it is not possible to stop your MP from joining a political party of his choice. Your only remedy would be vote them out of parliament when the elections next come up.
