Hon Anite Evelyn, Alaka Caleb, Jackson Atima and Adomati Dickson in Liaison With Other Leaders From WestNile Region, Mobilised 43 Million Shillings To Help The Vulnerable People In The Region During This Covid-19 Epidemic.

*West Nile Electricity Connectivity to the National Grid (Voice of West Nile) contributions towards feeding of the vulnerable people in West Nile during the Covid 19 pandemic*

Dear sons, daughters, friends and in-laws of West Nile. We would wish to extend our heartfelt appreciation and say thank you for having heeded to the clarion call we made to contribute for our vunerable people during this Corvid 19 lockdown.* A total of Ugshs ***43, 387,470 ( fourty three million three hundred eighty seven thousand four hundred seventy).* *Was collected by us in total for this purpose. Your Executive Committee deliberated about the said contributions and made the following resolutions.
1. That your contributions be used to buy food which shall be given to the task forces of the eleven districts of West Nile for distribution to vunerable people of West Nile.
2. That the food to be purchased and distributed would be cassava flour and beans and the same be locally procured from West Nile.
3. The cost of 100 kilograms of cassava flour in West Nile is Ugshs 80,000/- but the same was negotiated to 77,000 by our team and 100 kilograms of good quality beans is 400,000/-
4. That we purchase *400 bags (each bag is 100 kilograms) of cassava flour and 27 bags (each bag being 100 kilograms) of beans.*
5.That the 11 districts of West Nile be clustered into the following tires based on population and the number of sub counties as follows. 
a) Arua District, in tier one. we shall deliver 70 bags of Cassava Flour and 5 bags of beans. Out of this, Terego which is already a political District will get 22 bags of cassava flour and 2 bags of beans to be delivered by the Arua District Task Force. On top of that we shall also give what we received in kind to Arua District which includes; one bag of 100 kgs of beans, 50kgs of sugar, 50 sachets of cooking oil, 250 kgs of Maize Flour and 50 packets of salt.
b) Tier two will compose the districts of Zombo and Koboko to which we shall give 45 bags of cassava flour per district and 3 bags of beans per district.
c). The third tier will comprise the districts of Moyo, Adjumani, Yumbe and Nebbi to which we shall give 35 bags of cassava flour and 2 bags of beans per district. 
d). The last cluster is of Maracha, Madi Okollo, Pakwach and Obongi to which we shall give 25 bags of cassava flour and 2 bags of beans per district.
We shall ensure that the beneficiaries of our efforts shall be those who are sick in health centers and hospitals, PWD’s, elderly people, widows, orphans and the urban disadvantaged class who are in the informal sector.
A subcommittee was formed to be in charge of procurement of the food items and its distribution to the different task forces of the districts of West Nile and this subcommittee consists of *Ms Hope Anne Anguyo, Ms Mercy Munduru, Ms Medina Naham, Eng. Aita Joel, Mr. Kana Patrick, Mr. Atima Lee Jackson, and Mr. Dickson Adomati*
4. The food items be bought and distributed by tomorrow Tuesday 5/5/2020. and the quality should be that which is fit for human consumption.
5. The media be involved to enhance transparency.
6. We wish to assure you of utmost transparency and accountability in this process and all receipts shall be published. We also intend to publish your names in the print and electronic media and publicly acknowledge all your contributions. We shall also Notify the National Task Force about our contribution and Indicate that the same was given in terms of food to the eleven district task forces of West Nile for distribution to vulnerable people and we shall request that they forward the same to His Excellency the President. We thank you all for the sacrifice and selflessness you exhibited when you generously contributed towards our efforts of feeding our vulnerable people affected by the Covid 19 pandemic.This is a new chapter in the history of West Nile. Viva West Nile. Viva Uganda.

Police in Arua district are investigating a case of assault and threatening violence involving the Member of Parliament for Ayivu West Constituency John Lematia and James Ariko, a DSTV technician in Arua city.
