A suspect who was accused of stealing a phone, died in police detention facility in the sub-county Headquarter of Kijomoro in Maracha district. Police alleged that, the suspect committed suicide during the night of their detention in police custody.
The deceased, whose details is not known clear yet, was arrested together with his friend called EGOO from ARODRI in Poo village Lamila parish, on Sunday 17 September 2017 by the police on allegations that they both conspired to steal a phone from a local phone technician at OKOKORO trading center, who reported them to police.
Due to threat and torture in police detention room, the other suspect EGOO from ARODRI, fearfully confessed that he put the stolen phone in their House!!!
When the police officer escorted him to go and pick the phone from their home, EGOO entered into the house and delayed for about 10 minutes while the officer was waiting him at the door. he surprisingly came out minus the phone. He was then taken back to spend their night at police detention unit at headquarter. EGOO's friend, whom they were both detained with on the same case allegation of a stolen phone, was found dead in the morning.
The entire sub-county headquarter workers including; OC, LC3, Chief, Police and among others are on panic.

MY COMMENT.
Some of our youth do not expect themselves to be stealing but the hostile economy and standard of living in our country is compressing some of our youth to go stealing.
Especially you go there in my region called WESTNILE, the a few employment opportunity my fellows there could travel abroad to do, might either be a security guard or a sugar cane cutter, which qualifies only for those who attained 'O' level education or P.7 leaver. And those who never attained such level of education get themselves driven into dubious acts like becoming a street gambler or stealing bicycle, chicken, phone, goat... And awfully you even see the police and Judiciary feeling proud to arrest and prosecute such a petty chicken thief.
