Speaker Among has on Tuesday 5-December-2023 revealed that some MP attempted to solicit a bribe in her name, saying one unnamed MP approached one Managing Director of a public agency under the pretext that he had been sent by the Speaker, prompting Speaker to warn MPs against engaging in such financial fraud as it taints the integrity of Parliament. “It has come to our notice that some MPs continue to breach the provision of the code of conduct amongst engaging in financial decisions that embed objectivity in the discharge of their duty.  I was actually surprised when some Managing Director called me and said, there is some MP has come that you have sent him for something for you,” said Among. Warning for iPhone Users: Experts Warn of Sneaky Fake Lockdown Mode Attack.

A new "post-exploitation tampering technique" can be abused by malicious actors to visually deceive a target into believing that their Apple iPhone is running in Lockdown Mode when it's actually not and carry out covert attacks. The novel method, detailed by Jamf Threat Labs in a report shared with The Hacker News, "shows that if a hacker has already infiltrated your device, they can cause Lockdown Mode to be 'bypassed' when you trigger its activation." In other words, the goal is to implement Fake Lockdown Mode on a device that's compromised by an attacker through other means, such as unpatched security flaws that can trigger execution of arbitrary code.
