📸: Hon Alioni Yorke Odria Exits Out of the Gate Together with His Lawyer After Attending the Petition Filed Against Him.
Dramatic scenes unfolded on Sunday afternoon 12pm 3-August-2025 at the NRM Disputes Tribunal on plot 30 Kyadondo road, Kampala after some politicians (Name withheld for security reasons) from Aringa South Constituency who had turned up for hearing of petition number PT 330/2025 (Musema Mudasir Bruce and 5 Others 🆚️ Hon Alioni York Odria and NRM EC), started to quarrel on the Journalists covering various politicians at the petition hearing at the NRM Tribunal, for refusing to interview them.
Unlike the incumbent MP Hon Alioni Yorke Odria who left the Tribunal premises some minutes after concluding hearing of the petition filed against him, some of the politicians who remained behind and insisted to be interviewed by the Journalists while quarreling on them, got their embarrassment of the year when the police officers deployed at the Tribunal premises decided to push them out of the compound over such a quarrelsome behavior and conduct.
The frustration that might have triggered such misconduct left some of the Eyewitnesses at the Tribunal premises speechless and wondering why some politicians would pick up quarrels with Journalists when they might not be ready to interview them.
It should be noted that, the 17-7-2025 NRM Party primary election for Aringa South Constituency MP position attracted 6 candidates, with the incumbent MP Hon Alioni Yorke Odria emerging the winner after he polled 17,671 votes, followed by Musema Mudasir Bruce who garnered 8,515 votes, Matua Mike who got 5,056 votes, Mawa John Okole garnered 3,008 votes, Munduru Emilly got 1,881 votes and Deborah Jesuena who garnered 1,407 votes.
Unsatisfied over the outcome of the Thursday 17-7-2025 NRM Party primary elections for Aringa South Constituency Parliamentary position, 6 people filed petitions against Hon Alioni Yorke Odria in the NRM Disputes Tribunal, citing Voter Bribery, Vote Rigging among other irregularities allegedly orchestrated by the incumbent MP.
The petitions were heard on Sunday 3-August-2025 awaiting the ruling.
