Awiziru Sub-county Football club has beaten Obiba Sub-county foorbal club 2 goals to 1 during the kickoff ofUhuru football tournament that was initiated, organized, facilitated and launched on 22-August-2024 by Mr Uhuru Nelson, the Maracha Constituency MP Aspirant for 2026 – 2031 on NRM Party ticket, has reached to inter-Sub-county level games.
The competition name "Uhuru Football Tournament" was derived from the name of "Uhuru Nelson" who is an MP Aspirant for Maracha Constituency on NRM Party ticket, 2026 - 2031.
Each parish football club that qualified from the Uhuru Football Tournament which ended on 8-October-2024 and trophies awarded on 9-October-2024, forming the Sub-county club have been promoted to the Inter Sub-county Uhuru Football Tournament as those that lost were relegated.
In August 2024, the tournament was launched with distribution of 8 trophies to the 8 Sub-counties and 62 footballs to the 31 parishes in Maracha Constituency.

Secretary for Maracha District Referees Association, Mr Apale Abdalla Aziz who was also a Referee in the football tournament between Awiziru Sub-county and Obiba Sub-county, while appreciating the organizers of Uhuru Football tournament, described the entire tournament as orderly and respectful as he expressed optimism of higher chances of some of the players to be bought away by bigger clubs in the Country and around the World if they continue with the spirit of discipline.

Mr Ayikobua Emmanuel, the Coach of Agaii Town Council who played a draw (1 : 1) with Ovujo Town council in Tuesday's competition promised to address the weaknesses of his players through rigorous training in order for them to win the next games.
Club Captain for Ovujo Town Council club, Asua Simon regretted some of the chances they wasted in the game with Agaii Town Council that ended in a draw (1:1) on Tuesday evening.

Vice Chairperson for the Uhuru Football Tournament, Mr Nzia Sadaraka described the football tournament organized by Maracha Constituency MP Aspirant Mr Uhuru Nelson as a stepping stone towards identifying, training and promoting the talents in the sports sector in Maracha.
In the first round of Uhuru Football tournament that was played on Tuesday 3-December-2024, Agaii Town Council played draw 1 : 1 with Ovujo Town Council, Okokoro Town Council defeated Kijomoro Sub-county with 3 goals to 0, Oluvu Sub-county defeated Oluffe Sub-county with 4 goals to 0 and Obiba Sub-county defeated Awiziru Sub-county with 2 goals to 1.
All the Sub-county clubs will play both home and away games.
