The Maracha Constituency MP Aspirant for 2026 to 2031, Mr Uhuru Nelson has kicked off distribution of 62 footballs and 8 trophies to the 31 parishes in the 8 Sub-counties of Maracha Constituency in Maracha District.

The distribution of the items which started on Thursday 22-August-2024 with Awiziru Sub-county, Okokoro Town council, Kijomoro Sub-county, Ovujo Town council and Oluvu Sub-county, will end on Friday 23-August-2024 with Obiba Sub-county, Agaii Town council and Oluffe Sub-county.

In a statement which attracted hand claps and cheers, the Talia United football club Captain, Mr Drapari Matendo from Awiziru Sub-county castigated Agents and Coordinators of Politicians for frustrating efforts of the Wananchi from lobbying for supports from politicians concerning societal needs and challenges.

Hon Mungueconi Gilbert the LC3 Chairman for Okokoro Town council appealed to the Youths to participate in sporting activities in order to reduce risks of health diseases which come due to lack of physical exercises.

One of the Football players in Nyamio Parish, Oluvu Sub-county, Adriko William, upon expressing his gratitude to Mr Uhuru Nelson for the items distributed said, no single politician or well Wisher has ever come to their Parish to support them in sporting activities.

Maracha Constituency MP Aspirant on NRM Party ticket, Mr Uhuru Nelson who donated the items urged the Youths to observe and take football as Talent Identification venture but not just as something for leisure.

In order to reduce poverty in the homesteads, Mr Uhuru advised the beneficiaries to engage in Socio-economic Transformation activities so that they balance it with sports.

Police in Arua district are investigating a case of assault and threatening violence involving the Member of Parliament for Ayivu West Constituency John Lematia and James Ariko, a DSTV technician in Arua city.
