Opinion: Why Ugandans Should Embrace Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba as a Leader - By Justus Aduma, 2026 Maracha East Constituency MP Aspirant.
Part 1.
Following first son Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba's visit to Arua City, WestNile region for the launch of MK Project 22-10-2022, lots of opinions ran on my mind after keen observation of events that unfolded within that month.
MAMMOTH CROWD.
Prior to Gen Muhoozi's announcement of a journey to WestNile region to launch the chapter, there were intensive mobilizations both by people in Youth age bracket and adults.
It all started with a meeting by involving majority of the MPs, RDCs, DISOs, DPCs, LC5s, Business Fraternity and different heads of department across districts of WestNile who converged for a strategic planning meeting at Desert Breeze hotel on October 6th 2022.
Then later on the wananchi immediately took over with the mobilization strategy.
There were all sorts of decoration from printing MK Project T-shirts to other types of decorations which showed love for the first son.
In some slum areas of Arua City, "MK" was the topic of discussion, a sign that points to a leader who will further more leverage them from abject poverty.
The voluntary mobilization by both business people and ordinary people in entire WestNile region proved that, he is loved as a leader who will safeguard businesses of people and create more employment opportunities for the ordinary people on top of what President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has done for Ugandans.
On D-Day 22-10-2022 of his arrival to Arua City, it was a jam and beehive of activities in WestNile region!
From my point of view, it was a stela day for businesses that registered high sales on that fateful day.
On the other side, the day attracted some doubtful Thomases who really wanted to see and know if Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has signs of a leadership and if he can be able to pull such a crowd.
However, that doubt was proved wrong by the mammoth crowd pulled in Arua City on that day.
To be continued.
Stay alert for part 2.
Yours, Mr Aduma Yeero Justus, a Member of Parliament Aspirant for Maracha East Constituency seat 2026 and also WestNile Region Interim Whip for MK Project.
I am a keen observer of Project MK. I have my opinion thus far, which I shall share at an appropriate time. I however vehemently disagree with the assertion of my brother Mr. Aduma Justus that, "Ugandans should embrace General Kainerugaba as a leader" based on the crowds he pulled during his launch in Westnile.
ReplyDeleteFirst, I believe, it is wrong to assess the potential of a leader basing on the crowds. The crowds can be deceptive in many respects, but here I should point out a few, right from my brother Justus' own words.
1. MK is the first son. People would gather to see the son of the president on any accation, let alone fronting himself as a presidential material. That does not mean he is accepted and loved as a president to be, no! He is loved as the son of the president.
Second, There was intense mobilisation preceeding the MK visit to westnile, involving all manner of political and regime leaders. I want to submit tbat the crowds responded to the call by their leaders, to hear and see if MK would deliver substance. Whsther he satisfied that expectation is yet to be proved.
Third, Considering the level of unemployment, poverty and civic impotency of the popolation, it should not surprise nybody that people respond to any political call in huge numbers expecting material gains: Free t_shirts, food, cash etc, but not to receive a presidential material ...
I so submit that My brother Justus' assertion is misleading in general..
