Opinion: Here is My Personal Analysis Over Wednesday's absenteeism of Ministers that Led to Adjournment of the Plenary Session.
By Osuta Yusuf.
6-Sep-2023.
📸: The Speaker Exits the house with some of the MPs after adjourning the house session of Wednesday 6-September-2023.1. I wasn't there physically but through what i watched online, the session was adjourned too early when there were, roughly less than 50 MPs (if I am not mistaken).
2. Some MPs and the Speaker had tasked some Minister (s) to come on the floor to respond to issues concerning security and safety of Ugandans in the wake of Bombings 💣 by some rebels.
3. The same Minister (s) had a day ago said, they can't respond to those concerns unless President Museveni gives them permission to do so on the floor of Parliament.
4. The Speaker simply used the absenteeism of Minister (s) to prematurely adjourn the house session as a way to favor the Minister (s).
5. The Speaker promised to meet the President again over absenteeism of Ministers!
This simply means, buying of time.
6. President Museveni is set to address the Country tomorrow Thursday 8pm 7-Sep-2023 on issues concerning the terroristic acts of rebels bombing the citizens.
7. Probably, the Minister (s) will appear in the house on Friday 8-Sep-2023 or next week after the President has spoken about the issue.
8. By that, the Minister (s) would have been saved from their job.
In conclusion, the absenteeism of the key Ministers who are to respond to concerns and early adjournment of the house session, are both planned to favor some people and interests.
Thanks.
