Councilors in Maracha District Pay Tribute to Their Fallen Colleague Hon Apollo Amute Ezaa, LC3 Oleba Town Council.
During a special council sitting held in Oleba Town Council hall on Thursday 17-8-2023, District Local Council (DLC) Councilors, LC3 Chairpersons and Sub-county Councilors in Maracha District have paid tribute to their fallen colleague Hon Apollo Amute Ezaa the LC3 Chairperson for Oleba Town Council who died on spot during a head-on collision accident with another motorcycle rider on 15-8-2023 9pm near Aroi health centre III in Arua City.
Oleba Town Council Speaker Rt Hon Bosco Acidri said, following the death of Oleba LC3 Chairperson late Hon Peter Madira and now the death of Hon Apollo Amute Ezaa which have occurred in a similar trend, the seat of the LC3 will remain vacant if religious leaders do not initiate extensive prayers, because many people are now fearing that seat.
Paranga Sub-county LC3 Chairperson Hon Godfrey Osutre expressed fears that, the infrastructural developments (roads) that have been received in the District and region which they think would ease communication, mobility and transportation of goods and services, has turned to be a great hindrance to our lives.
Hon Silva Drani the councilor representing people of Oleba Town Council to the district council described the late as someone who is not corrupt, not a drug user and a hardworking person with good relationship with the community.
Councilor representing Alikua and Yivu sub-county, Hon Grace Asibazuyo requested for entire people in Maracha District to organize a crusade for prayers to rebuke and cast away alleged demons that are claimed to be killing people through rampant road accidents in the district.
Koboko Municipality mayor Hon Wilson Sanya who doubles as the President of Mayors in Uganda says, they are lobbying to make sure LCs, Mayors and Councilors in Uganda are pensionable.
He urged Maracha District officials and Councilors to declare the LC3 Vice Chairperson Oleba Town Council as the successor for the deceased late Hon Apollo Amute Ezaa.
