The people of Maracha District have got an opportunity from Aseru Foundation, a none governmental organization registered in December 2022 to uplift the livelihood of youths, women and teenage mothers in the district.
The NGO whose first activity was conducted on Monday 12-June-2023, has offered a free training for Youths, Women and Teenage mothers in greater Oluvu Sub-county on how to make liquid soaps for both commercial and domestic use.
Founder of the organisation Ms Aseru Sarah said, their target is to reach out to the above categories of people by not only training them but also giving them capital in terms of supply of materials for the course they undertake.
Trainee Ms Driciru Emmanuella thanked Aseru Foundation for giving them such opportunities of skilling, adding that, the basics of the training will help her in generating income in the future.
Mr Jimmy Joel another beneficiary of the training said, Aseru Foundation has come as a pillar in orgainsing them Youths in terms of incoming generating activities through skilling and give them materials to start up the work.
He appealed to the foundation to embark on championing health awareness campaign by going in homes and health centres to sensitize people about hygiene.
Mr Govule Francis the vice chairperson of Aseru Foundation, highlighted on what the foundation intends to create through an enabling environment for youths & women by empowering them with skills trainings and also mindset change.
He said, this comes after their keen observation of status quo in the district and country pertaining affairs of Youths, Women and Teenage mothers.
Hon Govule who is also the Youth Chairperson for Maracha District said, they will also start community sensitization against domestic violence by going to health centers and villages to speak with women and men who perpetrate or go through domestic violence in their various villages.
