Maracha District Leaders Flagoff Shs 1 Billion Road Construction Project, Warn Contractor Against Shody Works.

In a ground breaking meeting that convened today 22-4-2022 at Padruku Village, Oluvu Parish in Awiziru Sub-county, Locals hailed the District Leaders for their Cooperation and Love as a District that resulted into this success.
The 1 Billion Shillings project whose funds have been secured from World Bank, and has been awarded to NABET Construction Company Ltd is expected to be finished in Six Months, according to the Contractor.

Maracha Constituency MP Oguzu Lee Denis who  asked for transparency urged the Contractors to recruit area local people in doing the works.
Upon querying which class of construction cement the contractor is going to use for the works, Hon Oguzu tasked the team to use Cement Class "42" for constructing the Bridge, a narrative he said is a recommendation from Ministry of Works and Transport.

The District LC V Chairman Hon Obitre Stephen pleaded to the Contractor, to keep their promise of "Clean Technical Work" as they purported to have done in other parts of Uganda.
He said, they have had many challenges with other Contractors in the District, ranging from Delayed works, Unsatisfactory works, none payment of Workers among others.
To justify his statement, the District Chairman cited an example of unfinished construction work at Curube, where the contructor disappeared and isn't picking their phone calls after getting all the monies yet there are some snags to be completed.
In his closing remarks, the LC5 Chairman warned the Contractor to watch over his staff members regarding their social contact especially in issues concerning "Falling in Love with Ladies" of the local area, a challenge he said is so alarming to the extent once the construction works are finished, the staff leave behind young girls pregnant, a statement, the RDC Mr Ayikobua also reechoed in his speech at the launch of the project.

The Resident District Commissioner Mr Ayikobua Festus who officiated the event, vowed to arrest the contractors for any Mishap  that might arise from the construction of the Road, something, he said is becoming a Norm, where many times people blame the NRM Government for either unfinished or shody works done when even it's the technocrats that fail NRM Government.
